Schools Need to Prioritize Connection Not Curriculum

The impact of standardized testing on the learning experience is quite significant. Teachers are under an immense amount of pressure to produce results since funding is often linked to test scores. This puts them in a difficult spot, as they strive to educate their students while also trying to achieve good grades on tests. Unfortunately, this emphasis on test scores and the curriculum has led to a disconnect between educators and their students. Our education system is mainly focused on performance, but this approach may not be the most effective way to promote learning. If we prioritize building relationships and fostering connections, we may be able to give our students a better chance at academic success.Enjoy today’s episode? How Connection Can Stop Kids Hitting, Kicking, and Biting

In our society, there is a common belief that children who exhibit strong emotions, reactions, and aggressive behaviors are the ones who need to be punished and corrected. However, it's important to recognize that the child who is hitting, kicking, or biting is likely the one who is in pain and struggling, and until we can help them feel better and more connected, everyone around them is at risk of getting hurt.Enjoy today’s episode? Society’s Need to Diagnose

Today I tackle a big question from one of my Instagram followers about the bent that society has to label or diagnose young kids with bad behavior, they tend to want to put these kids in a box but the problem here is that this box has been created using artificial parameters around rewards, punishments and threats.
