In this episode I’m sharing 3 reasons why you shouldn’t get a coaching certification. Ep 203: Anti-Racism, Perfectionism + Shame
Following George Floyd’s tragic death and the long overdue worldwide conversation around racial injustice, I’ve spent a lot of time learning about systemic racism, white privilege and how to be anti-racist. And I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t know more, and hadn’t been doing more, about this issue sooner - that alone is proof of how much white privilege I have. Becoming anti-racist is important work that I’ll be doing for a long time and I still have SO MUCH to learn, but I recorded this podcast episode on how anti-racism, perfectionism and shame - based on what I’m learning as a student of this work - as my experience over the last few weeks has shown me how shame and perfectionism can stop us from doing this work when it’s not addressed. Even though I feel like I have jumbled my words in this podcast episode I don’t care - I’ve been silent on this issue for too long and that is part of the problem. Black Lives Matter.
