In a 'movie news stories' round-up, Ace and Ali talk about the Zac Efron Three Men And A Baby reboot - no, really - Will Smith's hard-edged Fresh Prince reimagining and who they've cast as Princess Diana in the final two series of The Crown. It's a mixed bag of news this week, we can't lie. Also don't forget that next week's 'Ali Plumb's Film Club' is Tenet, what with it being the first big, big movie to hit cinemas for a long, long time. And, you know, it being a Christopher Nolan film and all. What were you planning on doing, 'not watching it'? Well, quite.

A short and sweet (and spoilerific) Friday podcast for you this week, with Ali joining forces with Steffan Powell, Radio 1's gaming-cum-murder mystery expert, to talk about this week's Ali Plumb's Film Club choice, Knives Out. Look forward to two fully-grown men getting really excited about Daniel Craig's Kentucky-fried accent, listing off their favourite Agatha Christie adaptations and other such wanton nerdery. Plus! Seth Rogen is back - and in cinemas to boot! - with An American Pickle, a high-concept comedy about grief, loss, ancestry, religion and what it would be like if your grandfather met you, a 30-something app developer in New York, after waking up from being pickled in brine for over 100 years. You may need to read that sentence again, I don't blame you. Here, Seth talks about his thinky, introspective movie with his trademark booming laugh never far from his lips, before digging into the tried and true Ali Plumb silly stuff towards the end.

Ali is all on his lonesome this week as he tries to get his head around the Disney+ release strategy for Mulan, gets excited for The Boys series two and lists ten of his favourite 'underseen indie movies' from the 21st century. Plus, The Martian is this week's Ali Plumb Film Club choice - look forward to Ali trying to get his head around the science of it all - with Knives Out the pick for next time around, so make sure you write that down quick smart.

Russell Crowe is back in cinemas with a new action thriller called Unhinged - which also means he's back on Radio 1's Screen Time too! As well as speaking to Ali about his new road rage movie, the Oscar-winning cinematic legend touches on all sorts of old school fun: what fans shout at him across the street, what movie mementos he's kept over the years, and which movies he'd done he'd consider "his hidden gems". This one is a real treat, truly.

On this week's Friday edition of Radio 1's Screen Time, Ace is back to talk about The Nice Guys, the Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling '70s-set action-comedy you always wanted to watch but just, you know, didn't find the time. After this podcast, things may well change on that front... Plus! As well as Ali Plumb's Film Club, there's also some movie news to wrestle with, not forgetting a top five 'Most random film cameos' list from Ali which just might blow your mind. Maybe. Possibly.
