#32 - Kirsti Pratt: Reclaiming Your Pussy Power

In her early twenties, Kirsti Pratt learned firsthand the importance of an integrated, individualized health program. I competed as an athlete on American Ninja Warrior, and she was working 60 to 70 hours a week. Running on empty —literally and figuratively— she soon hit rock bottom and burned out. Struggling with G.I. issues, self-confidence, worthiness, depression, anxiety, mental fog, codependency, and physical aches and pains, she turned her focus inward to begin unpacking the underlying causes of her discomfort. Through her studies with the world-renowned CHEK Institute, she began a deep healing journey that originated from within. She recognized that her lifestyle choices, habitual behaviors and belief patterns that were holding her back from reaching her true potential. She was able to see the common thread woven into these patterns, gaining a deeper understanding of the importance of balance and integration between her mental, emotional, physical, energetic, and spiritual health.[9:00] - Kirsti’s training as a ninja warrior[12:00] - Nathan’s own healing journey in residency training[15:15] - Polyamory and “thruples”[25:30] - The energetics of masculine and feminine[36:50] - Pussy power[49:30] - Cycles in life and women’s health[58:00] - Health coaches need focused training on women’s healthReferences and LinkBrit Marling article “I Don’t Want to Be the Strong Female Lead”Maslow’s Hierarchy of NeedsBook: Pussy: A ReclamationSara Gustafson on InstagramGreg Schmaus on InstagramBook: The Fifth Vital Sign, by Lisa Hendrickson-JackCertified Health Nut (Troy Casey) on InstagramAlpha channeling on InstagramBig thanks to our sponsor!Waveblock: https://www.waveblock.com/ (Use Code “BELOVED” for 10% off)Show Notes | DonateMusic by: Labrinth, Chancha Via Circuito, and Joaquín Cornejo--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/theholisticobgyn/message Get full access to Born Free Method: The Podcast at nathanrileyobgyn.substack.com/subscribe

#28 - Erin Yu-Juin McMorrow, PhD: What Do Sexuality, Divinity, and Soil Have in Common?

Erin is an author, a guide, and an artist. She is a certified yoga teacher, craniosacral therapist, and entrepreneur. She holds a PhD in Policy, Planning, and Development from the University of Southern California. She studied Political and Social Thought at the University of Virginia, served as the Director of Housing Policy with the Los Angeles Coalition to End Hunger and Homelessness, and the Regional Coordinator for several progressive signature-gathering campaigns in California. Immediately after she graduated with her PhD in 2013, her world split open. She got displaced from two homes in a row in the gentrification rush in Venice, California. She started volunteering with a group that she helped co-create into what is now the non-profit Kiss the Ground, and learned about the relationship between soil health and climate change. She then took several jobs that immediately fell through, and by 2014, she decided to put all of her stuff in storage and go to Bali for yoga teacher training for some self-care. GROUNDED was born on the plane on the way from LA to Bali. Her time in Bali launched my journey into healing, self-discovery, and spirit. Since then, she has continually deepened her studies and practice in the worlds of inner work and the metaphysical. Our relationships to spirit, matter, cycles, love, and storytelling, are the keys to untangling ourselves from patriarchal ways of thinking and birthing the new world. And she never ceases to be humbled by the divine timing and unfolding of her path and GROUNDED’s manifestation in this time and place.[00:17:20] - How do you feel at this time of the year?[00:21:47] - Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine[00:29:25] - Journey with Sexual Liberation and how did you derive so much Healing from this Process[00:49:20] - Traditional Chinese Medicine[00:51:24] - Through the Four Seasons of the Year[00:53:38] - Chakra (the tantric sort of practices)[00:55:47] - How confronting and liberating was it to actually take that plunge?[01:11:44] - My Experience on feeling very Liberated[01:15:45] - Why was it so confronting for you? / Sexual Healing[01:37:32] - What are the lessons of compost?[01:47:58] - Healing power of Grief is not always comfortable[01:50:34] - Love (the creative force of nature of the universe)[02:07:27] - Do you think that our actions as humanity are causing pain?References & Links:Dr. Erin Yu-Juin McMorrow, PHD - Website, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn,Book - GroundedIshmael by Daniel QuinnBraiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall KimmererThe More Beautiful World Our Hearts Know Is Possible by Charles EisensteinBig thanks to our sponsor!Waveblock: https://www.waveblock.com/ (Use Code “BELOVED” for 10% off)Show Notes | DonateMusic by: Labrinth, Chancha Via Circuito, and Joaquín Cornejo--- Send in a voice message:...
