80 - Yes, The Apostles Did Believe Jesus Rose From The Dead, with Dr. Sean McDowell

The central fact of the New Testament, and the one without which Christianity would be rendered not only false but also impotent and pitiable (according to 1 Corinthians 15:12-19), is the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.  The question of whether Christ's Apostles really believed he rose from the dead is paramount. So, does our current historical knowledge support the idea that they believed this? And did they die for this belief? Many skeptics (including UNC professor Bart Ehrman) have asked the question. So we're talking with Dr. Sean McDowell, Associate Professor of Christian Apologetics program at Talbot School of Theology and the author, co-author, or editor of over twenty books including The Fate of the Apostles, which addresses this very subject. Sean discusses biblical and extrabiblical evidence for the truth that the Apostles really did believe that Jesus rose from the dead (and why this is so important). He also answers the objections,  "Don't people die all the time for what they believe?" "Couldn't the apostles have knowingly died for a lie?" "How reliable are these historical accounts, anyway?" 79 - Why Science Needs Jesus

Next time someone tells you that your faith in Christ is unscientific, or that, while you may be a person of faith, he is personally a man of science, you’ll know what to say. Joel Settecase gives a powerful (because biblical) refutation of this trope that Christianity is unscientific by demonstrating the absolute necessity of biblical truth as a precondition for math and logic, uniformity in nature, and the reliability of the human mind... and how this all inevitably leads to Jesus Christ. Joel shares the script from A recent talk to gave for students of the Illinois Institute of Technology.  Support the Settecase Family & Think Institute: https://give.cru.org/1018841 Book Joel to speak: https://thethink.institute/contact Search the website: https://thethink.institute/search Listen to the Think Podcast: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/this-is-apologetics/id1462722483?uo=4 Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/think-institute/this-is-apologetics TuneIn: https://tunein.com/podcasts/Religion--Spirituality-Podcas/This-Is-Apologetics-p1222836/ Anchor: https://anchor.fm/the-think-podcast SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-315260725 Follow us: Facebook: https://fb.me/thethinkinstitute Twitter: https://twitter.com/thinkinst Instagram: https://instagram.com/thethinkinstitute Thinkspot: https://www.ts.today/user_feed/?user_id=25673 Get a free catechism, slide presentations and books: https://thethink.institute/print-resources

78 - Does the Great Commission Specifically Require Evangelism? (an Exposition of Matthew 28:18-20).

It’s been said that modern problems require modern solutions.  But for this problem, we’re going to tap into a resource that has been tried and true for nearly two thousand years.  I’m talking about the Great Commission. And it’s all about making disciples.  But I’m here to talk to you about evangelism.  The question is, “What is the connection between evangelism and disciple making? Does the Great Commission specifically require evangelism Is it possible for your church to be a disciplemaking church without being an evangelistic one?  What I want to show you is that... “Without Evangelism, there is no Great Commission.” Support the Settecase Family & Think Institute: https://give.cru.org/1018841 Book Joel to speak: https://thethink.institute/contact Search the website: https://thethink.institute/search Listen to the Think Podcast: Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/this-is-apologetics/id1462722483?uo=4 Stitcher: https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/think-institute/this-is-apologetics TuneIn: https://tunein.com/podcasts/Religion--Spirituality-Podcas/This-Is-Apologetics-p1222836/ Anchor: https://anchor.fm/the-think-podcast SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/user-315260725 Follow us: Facebook: https://fb.me/thethinkinstitute Twitter: https://twitter.com/thinkinst Instagram: https://instagram.com/thethinkinstitute Thinkspot: https://www.ts.today/user_feed/?user_id=25673 Get a free catechism, slide presentations and books: https://thethink.institute/print-resources Think Podcast intro music from https://filmmusic.io "Killers" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) License: CC BY (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Think Podcast outro music from https://filmmusic.io "Sneaky Snitch" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) License: CC BY (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/)

73 - Definitive Guide: Christian Epistemology

Reason, science and intuition are invaluable truth-seeking faculties, but each one is insufficient on its own. We need a unifying principle tying them all together and giving us epistemological warrant for using all three. Moreover, we need a basis for trusting them in the first place. Scripture provides that unity and basis.
