#15 Is “Sola Scriptura” Biblical?
How can Sola Scriptura be true?
We Protestants believe in Scripture alone—that means Scripture is "sufficient." It has all we need. But in order to say that, we have to define what Scripture is—which books are in, and which are out. But Scripture itself never gives us that list. So it seems like Sola Scriptura doesn't work. Are you wondering about the answer to this? How would you answer?
So we need to do a deep dive into Sola Scriptura.
Along the way, I will share with you what I said during that AMA, with some additional notes.
So to help us answer the big question—is Sola Scriptura true—let's look at the following five questions together.
1. What does Sola Scriptura Mean?
2. What are some characteristics that Scripture has, that no other book has?
3. If Scripture is sufficient, what does that mean for all other "authorities?"
4. How do we really know which books should be in the canon of Scripture?

#13 Why You Need “Imaginative Apologetics” and Stories to Teach Your Kids the Faith | Guest: Michael Jahosky
There seems to be an innate desire in the human heart to hear—and to tell—good stories. It seems to be the way we are wired.
Stories entertain us. They communicate ideas. They are powerful. They shape our identity. And we are hardwired to appreciate and retell them.
The Christian view is that our love of stories has been given to us by our Creator. It was God who has designed us to value stories.
And there is a way of using stories to capture the imagination of people, in order to share, and even defend the Chrstian worldview. In this episode, we’re going to talk first about this method, called imaginative apologetics, and then we’re going to do a deep dive on how you can use really great stories to help your kids understand the biblical view of the world.
We are going to answer the question, “How can stories help you defend your Christian faith, and pass it on to the younger generation?”
Today you’re going to hear from Michael Jahosky. This is Mike’s third time on the show. He is a Tolkein scholar and writes on those great authors, JRR Tolkein and CS Lewis. And he is going to help us understand the importance of capturing the imagination of our listeners, as we’re defending our Christian faith… and how to do the same thing when we’re seeking to teach our children the Christian worldview… through excellent stories.
If you want to learn a new method for defending your faith effectively, or if you want some solid recommendations of stories to read to your kids that won’t corrupt their minds (like so many books out there), but will actually help them to think more biblically and become spiritually stronger, this episode is for you. And if you just want some good book recommendations, Michael Jahosky has got you covered.
Questions we'll answer today include:
What is Imaginative Apologetics and how does it help?
How does Imaginative Apologetics actually work?
Why do parents need good tools for teaching their kids the Christian worldview?
Which books by JRR Tolkein and CS Lewis should you be reading to your kids?
What are the benefits of teaching your kids about the concept of “mystery?” (Not the genre… the theological concept).
And what are some other stories that can help your children grow in the Christian faith?

#12 Why Does God Allow Us to Suffer? | Guest: Al Miller
Why does God allow us to suffer?
The Bible teaches that God is sovereign. He is Lord. He has all authority, total control, and is completely aware of everything that happens in the universe. Furthermore, He is good, and He loves us.
If you’re a Christian you believe all these truths about God. But if you’re like me, you have also experienced great suffering in your life. And this isn’t just true about you and me. It’s true of every person who has ever lived.
That means if we are suffering, God knows about it. And He is powerful enough to stop it.
So, God is sovereign. God is good. And God allows us to suffer. Often, excruciatingly. How do we fit these truths together? That’s what we’re talking about in this episode.
Questions we'll answer today include:
What diagnosis did Al receive? And who started making funeral arrangements after receiving it?
What was it like getting a lifesaving transplant?
How Al’s attitude toward suffering—and God— radically changed.
What advice Al has for other Christian fathers, and the four lessons his suffering has taught him.

#11 What Does "No Neutrality" Mean In Apologetics?
Is it just me, is the line between the "sides" in our society becoming clearer?
If you're into presuppositional apologetics at all, this shouldn't surprise you. We always say that there is "no neutrality." Maybe you've heard that. But does it really mean? And how biblical is it? That's what we're talking about on this episode.
Questions we'll answer today include:
What would it mean to be neutral toward God?
When it comes to worldviews, how many "sides" are there?
What does the Bible say about neutrality toward God?
How does this impact our apologetics?
How can you develop a method for defending your Christian faith that effectively deals with the non-neutrality of your friends and neighbors?

#10 Why ONLY Christianity Is True, Out of All the World's Religions
In total, there are about 4,300 religions in the world! Have you really studied them all?
And if you haven't, then what are the odds that you just so happened to stumble upon the only one that is correct… or even the best option?
In this episode, you will learn:
Why you don't need to investigate every religion in the world in order to know if Christianity is the only true one.
Why, if Christianity is true, no other competing religion can be true.
What are three ways to investigate religions… and why they all presuppose the truth of Christianity…
10 good reasons to believe that Christianity is true

#9 Why I Am a Young-Earth, Literal 6-Day Creationist
The Bible says God created the world in six days… right? Well, yes, it does. But the world says otherwise. How will you respond? —- Today I'll specifically be answering: What 3 views of creation do most Christians hold? What's wrong with so-called evolutionary creationism? Why is old-earth creationism close but no cigar? Why am I a young-earth creationist? #8 Can God Make a Rock So Big He Can't Lift It (A Presuppositional Answer)
Question: Can God make a rock so heavy, He can't lift it?
At first glance it might sound like a dumb question. But when you peel back the layers, you find there's more to it.
Today I'm going to share with you a method for defending your faith that you can use with this question—and many more.
Today we're going to be answering the questions:
What is the real challenge being presented by the "unliftable rock" question?
What role can shame play in answering objections to Christianity?
How can you get to the bigger question behind the "rock question" and use that to give a strong defense of the Christian worldview?
And of course, Can God actually create a rock so heavy He can't lift it, or not?

#7 How to Have “Dominion” like Tom Bombadil | Guest: CR Wiley
Think about the possibility of increasing your influence in your family, work and local area. What comes to your mind? Do you think you could do it? Or here's a better question: do you think you could increase your influence, without lording it over others?
Today we're joined by C. R. Wiley.
C. R., or Chris, has written extensively about Tom Bombadil, and he's just authored a book called In the House of Tom Bombadil.
In it he unpacks who he thinks Tom Bombadil really is and why Tolkein included him in his stories.
But also how Tom Bombadil can help us understand the nature of the world, how to increase our influence in it, and how to be more joyful—how to have fun doing it.
Questions we'll answer today include:
How Tom Bombadil exercises power in a counterintuitive way
Why Tolkein's most powerful character has so much joy
What it means to have dominion without domination
How increasing your knowledge can help you increase your influence—and what kind of knowledge you need
How modern bureaucracies domineer and dominate
What is the "Bombadil Option?"
How to overcome fear when you are surrounded by chaos
What it means to be antifragile
How to be more joyful and jocular in your home—and why you shouldn't take yourself too seriously
