#54 Unlocking the Treasures of Tolkien: A Journey Into Faith & Mythology | Guest: Michael Jahosky
In this episode, we delve into the fascinating world of J.R.R. Tolkien and his profound impact on literature, Christianity, and the human imagination with our guestMichael Jahosky, author of "The Good News of the Return of the King."Here's a sneak peek of the questions answered and topics discussed in this thought-provoking episode:
What makes J.R.R. Tolkien an important author?
What is Tolkien trying to accomplish in his writings? What is the connection of his stories to his worldview?
What is Michael Jahosky's favorite Tolkien work, and why?
What work of Tolkien's should a reader start with?
Music plays a huge role in Tolkien's Middle Earth. Is our world affected by heavenly music in a similar way?
Would Tolkien have understood the elements of the Old Testament such as talking snakes and talking donkeys as literally and historically true, given his understanding of Scripture's message as "True Myth?"
Should the topic of "beauty" be dealt with more in Christian circles? Have we neglected aesthetics? What are good sources on that topic?
We hope you enjoy this episode as much as we did, filled with intriguing insights, scholarly analysis, and profound reflections on the intersection of faith, literature, and the enduring legacy of J.R.R. Tolkien.

#53 Double Vision: Ecclesiastes Understood from a Presuppositional Perspective | Guest: Pastor Rob Barker, PhD
Welcome to "Worldview Legacy," the show that equips you to become the worldview legacy your family and church need.
In today's episode, your host, Joel Settecase, President of The Think Institute, is joined by special guest Pastor Rob Barker, PhD, as they explore the intriguing topic of how to understand one of the most mysterious books of the Bible—namely, Ecclesiastes.
Joel and Rob embark on a thought-provoking discussion that challenges prevailing interpretations of the Book of Ecclesiastes.
Drawing from their shared appreciation for the Van Tillian, Presuppositional framework, Joel and Pastor Rob Barker present a compelling case for understanding Ecclesiastes through this unique lens. Rob explores how this approach offers a more coherent understanding of the book's overarching themes and sheds light on its enigmatic passages.
Specially, in this episode you will learn about:
• Why the liberal interpretation of Ecclesiastes fails to capture its true essence.
• Why the traditional Evangelical interpretation falls short in grasping its profound meaning.
• Why reading Ecclesiastes twice is crucial for a comprehensive understanding of its message.
• The question of authorship, debating whether or not Solomon actually wrote Ecclesiastes.
Tune in to "Worldview Legacy" as Joel Settecase and Pastor Rob Barker invite you to embark on a journey of intellectual discovery, challenging conventional wisdom and exploring controversial ideas from a conservative perspective. Get ready to expand your worldview and deepen your understanding of Ecclesiastes through a thought-provoking Presuppositional interpretation.

#51 How to Understand and Use The Transcendental Argument for God (T.A.G.)
What Is the Transcendental Argument for God?The Transcendental Argument for God (TAG) was first developed by Cornelius Van Til, the godfather of Presuppositional Apologetics. Since Van Til first articulated it, it has been picked up and worked on by subsequent theologians and apologists.
Today you’re going to hear from Joel Settecase, Kevin Blessum, Brian Kurkjian and Rob Barker. Joel is the President of The Think Institute (TTI) and host of the Worldview Legacy Podcast. Kevin is a TTI board member. Brian is developing a really cool resource for TTI, and Rob Barker helps run the ThinkSquad community. Each of them is a dad. Each of them is seeking to disciple his family in the Christian faith. And these are exactly the four guys you want to hear from, if you want to know more about TAG and how to use it to respond to the toughest challenges to Christianity today.
Specifically, you’re going to learn:
• Why logic presupposes God—AND why “not logic” also presupposes God!
• Why logic cannot merely be something humans evolved with.
• What the Transcendental Argument is and how to use it to defend your faith.

#48 How Much Does God Want Us to Give? (12 Principles)
Most people understand that it is a good thing to donate financially to worthy causes. However, when it comes to the specifics about what the Bible says about giving, many Christians have questions. Believers want to know what God requires of us, how much God wants us to give, how we should support our local church, how much to give to missionaries and ministries, and when and how to give to those outside the church.
The Bible has a lot to say about money. Understanding its teaching is crucial to living and teaching the Christian worldview—in your home, in your church, and in your local area. Let’s take a few moments and unpack the biblical teaching about giving and generosity. Specifically, we will look at 12 principles for biblical generosity.

Is the Bible merely a human invention? That's what we're talking about today. This episode will help you equip your kids to answer when their friends or someone else brings it up to them. It's also going to help prepare you to give an answer to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you (2 Peter 3:15).
Mike D'Virgilio joins Joel Settecase to discuss why, contrary to what skeptics say, the Bible doesn't seem like a made-up book at all.
Specifically, you're going to learn about:
• What Question-Begging Anti-Supernaturalism is, and why it's a problem.
• Verisimilitude, and why the Bible seems to have it.
• Why, when it comes to Scripture, it has to be verbal plenary inspiration, or nothing.
• And why we must not let non-Christians get away with believing in a "partial Jesus."

#45 Is Christianity Just a Crutch? (Expanded Guide)
Is Christianity just a crutch?
Welcome to Worldview Legacy, with Joel Settecase (I don’t actually say my name in this episode, so if you didn’t know me, now you do).
This is a common thing you’ll hear non-Christians say. It’s different from many other objections such as “Can we trust the Bible,” or “Does Christianity contradict science,” because it’s a lot more emotional and less logical. It’s a “soul objection.” The good news is that you can answer soul objections the same way you answer every other challenge to your Christian faith—with a 3-step, presuppositional method that goes straight to the Gospel.
Specifically in this episode, you're going to learn:
How the person accusing Christianity of being a crutch is being arbitrary and inconsistent—and how to point this out.
Why the crutch objection itself makes no sense unless Christianity is true.
How your own story can be a powerful answer to the crutch objection.
We've tackled this question before back in 2001, but what you're about to hear is expanded and updated. With all due respect to the previous episode, this one is way better.
