How to Delete Instagram and take a break from Social Media

Today on the Colin and Samir podcast we're talking about social media use...specifically Instagram and the effect it's had on our lives as creators. Social media addiction is a phrase you're probably hearing a lot right now and we're seeing many of our friends deleting these apps off of their phones and taking breaks from them, something we've done ourselves recently. We've actually been taking a break from content creation in general and as you probably know this is our first episode back in almost a month. In this episode Colin and I dive into our own social media use, what we like, don't like, and how we keep our time on social media apps like Instagram in check. Towards the end of the episode we talk about some of Instagram's newest product features that get us excited to create with it moving forward.

We did it, We made a movie.

This week on The Colin and Samir Podcast we talk about realizing our dream of making a movie. We’ve had this dream for a while and we’ve talked about it quite a bit, we’ve always wanted to make a documentary, screen it in front of people and then have millions of people watch it….and all of that happened, within a week. Here's the link to the film: https://youtu.be/8cvhwquPqJ0On this episode we talk about how it happened, how we felt during the process and how it feels now to reflect back on realizing a dream of ours. Alright so this episodes opens up in Colins apartment as we reflect on making our first movie. We're incredibly grateful to the boys from Yes Theory, everyone who came to the premiere and to everyone who has watched the film so far - we are so excited about the response and can’t wait to make our next film. Some big takeaways from this experience - be present in the moment, a lot of times if you put your mind to It, your dreams will come true - but not exactly how you thought they would, or when you thought they would - they might look completely different from how you imagined them, but it’s important to try and recognize when they actually might be happening. Make sure to review the pod, like I mentioned, we are now on Anchor which means you can send us a voice message, we’d love to try that feature out and see what kind of voice messages we get from you guys.

The art of love, kindness and empathy with Houston Kraft

Check out Houston here: https://www.houstonkraft.com/This week on the Colin and Samir podcast we’re joined by a very unique guest. His name is Houston Kraft and he’s a storyteller and kindness advocate. Houston uses his storytelling abilities to spread stories about empathy kindness and love all with the goal of giving people the tools to practice more of those emotions in their day to day lives We wanted to bring you this conversation during the week of Valentine's day, a week where we hear a lot of about love of a specific kind - but there are actually many different varieties of love and empathy I believe that empathy is one of the most important emotions to exercise if you are trying to connect with others, whether that’s through business, through content, or just through communication. Houston tells us his story and we talk about the concept of love and kindness. He’s a great storyteller and he ends this podcast on one of the more powerful stories I’ve heard from him. We also have some surprise guests pop in while we are recording, so stay tuned for that.

We never thought this day would come

This week on the Colin and Samir podcast we talk about a day that we never expected would come. We recorded this episode on Colin’s 30th birthday. Colin and I met when we were 22 and have been working together ever since. Our twenties were filled with experimentation, successes, failures and a lot of adventures along the way. On this episode, we reflect on the past 10 years, the work we’ve done together and the decisions that defined the decade for Colin. There were a few unexpected moments in the episode - we had a brief weather interruption and a phone call from Colin's mom that we recorded, and decided to include an abridged version towards the end of the episode. Enjoy our conversation and sign up for our newsletter at Colinandsamir.com
