FaceCulture is a daily-updated music platform for in-depth interviews, live sessions, and a lot more with your favorite artists. While we operate mainly on YouTube and other video services, with this podcast we wan't to enable people to listen to a selection of both old and new interviews whenever and however they prefer. A short disclaimer: Because a lot of our interviews are conducted at festivals, music venues, hotels, restaurants, and the like, the quality of the audio isn't always in our full control, so please bare with us when the sound quality doesn't always match that of other podcasts. Having said that, we do want to provde the listener with as comfortable a listening experiences as possible, so not every interview that we do as FaceCulture will find its way to the podcast. Parcels - Louie Swain & Patrick Hetherington (2021)
Parcels is a five-piece electropop band hailing from Byron Bay Australia, and is now based in Berlin. After releasing their debut EP Clockscared in 2015 the band had the chance to work with French electro-duo Daft Punk on the track 'Overnight'. The band released its self-titled album in 2018 to great critical acclaim and lead to them playing all around the world. Now with their second album, a double album, Day/Night the band has taken a next step in their musical exploration. We spoke with bandmembers Louie Swain and Patrick Hetherington about the new album, music that forces you to be present, string arrangements, Somethinggreater, and unreliable narrator, moving to Berlin, putting the songs first, and a lot more! David Keenan (2021)
The first time we spoke with Irish singer-songwriter David Keenan was at the Lowlands festival back in 2017, his first interview outside of Ireland he told us. Since then we have been lucky enough to sit down with David to talk about his critically acclaimed debut album 'A Beginner's Guide To Bravery', and now his follow up album 'WHAT THEN?'. In the lead-up to the new album Keenan went through somwhat of a personal transformation, and so we spoke about him putting himself together again, falling in love with writing again, identity and balance, expanding his sound on the new album, being honest with himself in his lyrics, and a lot more! James Michael is a producer, songwriter, musician and vocalist, most know for forming and being the lead singer in American rock band SIXX:A.M., alongside bandmates Nikki Sixx (Mötley Crüe) and DJ Ashba (Guns N' Roses). James Cassells is the drummer for British metalcore band Asking Alexandria. Since their inception in 2006 the band has released seven albums, the most recent being ' See What's on the Inside'. Badflower - Josh Katz (2021)
Josh Katz is a guitarist, vocalist and producer for American rock band Badflower. The band immediately made waves with ther EP 'Temper', which made Apple Music name them Artist of the Week in 2016. Their debut album 'OK, I'm Sick' was released in 2019 to good acclaim, propelled by the heartfelt, authentic, and at times confrontational lyrics by Katz. Badflowers recently released their second album 'This Is How The World Ends', and we spoke with Katz about the album, how he started writing songs, his development as a lyricist, the song 'Family', wanting to sound genuine, escapism vs confrontational art, struggling with being thoughtful, and a lot more.
