Gene and cohost Tim Swartz present researcher William G. Weber, author of "UFO's Sightings Reports Cover-Ups," of which veteran researcher Major George A. Filer is a coauthor. The book covers historical documented cases as well as those that touch us with modern technology today. Weber details the attempts to cover-up and even discredit witnesses to the actual sighting events. His hope is to provide subject matter to stimulate thought that perhaps we are not alone. Weber was the former MUFON State Director for the State of Delaware, and for a short time, the State of Pennsylvania. He was also a member of the MUFON STAR Team — (the MUFON SWAT Team). Veteran UFO researcher/scientist Chris Rutkowski returns to talk with Gene and guest cohost Curt Collins about the state of the field. Chris is a science writer who has devoted much time to investigating and studying reports of UFOs, writing about case investigations, and offering his insights into the broad UFO phenomenon. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Astronomy and a Master’s degree in Science Education, specializing in Astronomy. He was always interested in offbeat things and in 1975 there was a rash of UFO sightings in Manitoba that he began investigating. So he reports that: "I went out with friends and one day I started writing up what I had heard from some of the people that had seen things. I had the article published and soon I was getting requests for more articles and more comments and to give lectures, and pretty soon I was the great UFO expert." Gene and cohost Tim Swartz present a return appearance from Charles Lear, author of “Crashed Saucers and Malevolent Aliens: The Emergence of the Popular Modern UFO Mythos in the Late 20th Century.” The book focuses on those responsible for — or guilty of — creating and perpetuating key events involving flying saucer lore, such as the Aztec, NM and Roswell, NM crashes, the MJ-12 documents, disinformation agents, and so on and so forth. Lear also identifies one person, actually an old friend of Gene's, who is, in part, responsible for three of those legends or myths. Lear has been writing about UFOs for several years and still finds the subject, and the stories of the people involved, fascinating.
