Laura Siddall | What parallels are there between sport and business, and what can we learn from them?

What parallels are there between sport and business, and what can we learn from them? Laura Siddall returns to Helping Organisations Thrive to discuss what parallels she has experienced throughout her life in both corporate positions and now as a professional athlete. Laura highlights how there is a focus on rest, recovery, sleep and nutrition in sport, as these are factors widely known to sustainably improve performance. Although these “tools" have the potential to be highly transferable in enhancing performance in a corporate setting, prioritisation of these aspects is limited. Laura goes on to discuss various other parallels she has found, and what we can learn from them, from receiving feedback on a regular basis, to ensuring a common goal resonates throughout a team.    Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJRhcSqk2JQ   Connect with Laura: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/laura-siddall-120a51/ Website: https://laurasiddall.com/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/lmsiddall Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lmsid/       If you are looking for a Blueprint to help you and your business manage uncertainty, deal with failure and navigate change then reach out to Julian on the link below.   https://calendly.com/julianroberts/45min   https://www.julianrobertsconsulting.com/

Dave Crysler | How can leaders create a culture of continuous improvement?

How can leaders create a culture of continuous improvement? Dave Crysler, principal consultant of the Crysler Club, discusses what continuous improvement is, the importance of it, and how leaders can create it within their company culture. Dave shares how the value that continuous improvement adds to companies is vast, however, companies must constantly acknowledge this value and tackle operational inefficiencies continually, and not just when sales, for example, start to slow. Creating a culture of continuous improvement will make people feel valued and listened to, thus resulting in improved performance. Dave goes on to highlight some strategies that leaders can implement into their everyday routines that will encourage a culture of continuous improvement, including insights on how to “operate with excellence”.   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r85QcSRfAeU   Connect with Dave: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/davidcrysler/ Website: https://thecrysler.club/ Email: dave@thecryslerclub.com       If you are looking for a Blueprint to help you and your business manage uncertainty, deal with failure and navigate change then reach out to Julian on the link below.   https://calendly.com/julianroberts/45min   https://www.julianrobertsconsulting.com/

John Clark | Lessons learnt about resilience throughout his 48-day marathon challenge

48 marathons, in 48 days, in 48 of England’s counties. John Clark, also two times winner of Britain’s Natural Strongest Man, shares the lessons he has learned about resilience throughout his 48-day marathon challenge. John highlights how resilience is not always just about having a “get up and go” attitude but also about learning, and recognising the things that are controllable, and the things that are not.  Facing many obstacles throughout the 48 marathons, including injuries, fainting, fatigue, and moments of doubt, John emphasises how easy and justifiable it would have been to give up and stop. However, his resilient mindset urged him to find a strategy to prevent these challenges from occurring again, rather than finding a reason to stop. By focusing on only trying to control the controllable, John truly demonstrates what resilience is.   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utz7QcuIlGg   Connect with John: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thebendingbarbell/       If you are looking for a Blueprint to help you and your business manage uncertainty, deal with failure and navigate change then reach out to Julian on the link below.   https://calendly.com/julianroberts/45min   https://www.julianrobertsconsulting.com/

Rabbi Dr. Daniel Friedman | How relevant are leadership principles from ancient texts to business leaders today?

How relevant are leadership principles from ancient texts to business leaders today? Rabbi Dr Daniel Friedman, the founder of The Center for Torah Values, strives to make Torah meaningful, relevant, and inspirational to everyday life. Daniel explains how the core leadership principles that are explored in ancient texts are still completely relevant in leadership today but can be re-packaged to suit our current fast-moving business era. Daniel highlights how ancient texts demonstrate resilience, self-awareness, and recognition of personal strengths and weaknesses as vital values to leadership. Therefore, with the inevitable mirroring of past events or ideas in our world today, it is essential that we continue to apply the values emphasised in these texts, to business leadership today.   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLDpdH6CAeI   Connect with Daniel: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/rabbidanielfriedman/ Email: rdf@rabbidanielfriedman.com     If you are looking for a Blueprint to help you and your business manage uncertainty, deal with failure and navigate change then reach out to Julian on the link below.   https://calendly.com/julianroberts/45min   https://www.julianrobertsconsulting.com/

Hans Horlings | How workplace engagement can drive an organisation’s resilience?

Hans Horlings, freelance public speaker, trainer, facilitator, and coach discusses how workplace engagement can drive an organisation's resilience. Hans emphasises how highly engaged employees have a drive and purpose, which allows them to overcome obstacles, be committed and have confidence and belief in themselves. With this level of engagement comes an automatic increase in resilience. Hans uses a fascinating analogy of being a sailing boat captain to describe the process of experiencing and overcoming obstacles, and how this ultimately builds confidence. A highly engaged and resilient workplace can be created by focusing on the things we can control and combining this skill with confidence, drive, and purpose.   Watch the full episode on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BDmvpqIi6QQ   Connect with Hans: LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/hanshorlings/ Email: hanshorlings@gmail.com Website: http://fulloflifebooks.com/     If you are looking for a Blueprint to help you and your business manage uncertainty, deal with failure and navigate change then reach out to Julian on the link below.   https://calendly.com/julianroberts/45min   https://www.julianrobertsconsulting.com/
