The title, Baraye, means “because of” or “for the sake of” in Persian and it is the word that starts every verse of the song. The song was composed during the early days of the 2022 uprising and soon became the anthem of the movement.

Who has demonstrated great credibility and trustworthiness to say the thing we're facing I've never done before. I don't know what to do, but it is ours to do. So will you join me in it.
