#320 A Deep Dive Into Cryptocurrency: Nick Jones, CEO of Zumo

*This is a sponsored episode with Zumo.* I've wanted to do a deep dive episode on the topic of cryptocurrency for ages. Nick Jones, the CEO of Zumo (a new cryptocurrency wallet app) was a great person to speak to about this. Zumo are doing great things in this space and I've always wanted to know more but I've never known where to start, where to go or what to trust. For any newbies out there like me who are interested in finding ways to make their money work harder for them, or learn more about crypto, then I think you'll enjoy this conversation. I'm asking Nick all the questions I've always wanted to know about cryptocurrency: what to look out for, where it's headed and how we can get involved in a way that makes us feel safe and secure in the process. For more information on Zumo, just go to http://short.zumo.money/download. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Dawn O'Porter (REPLAY): The Freedom of Writing Fiction

This is a replay of a previous episode with Dawn O’Porter. Dawn has actually come on this podcast 3 times, but this is a replay of the latest conversation we had in 2019, about her brilliant novel So Lucky. She is the author of 6 books including the award-winning YA books Paper Aeroplanes and Goose, her first adult novel The Cows was a Sunday Times Bestseller and her latest book "SO LUCKY" is also a Sunday Times bestseller. The novel is about three women and how life really isn't as perfect as it looks. Ruby is feeling like she's failing as a mother, Beth is in a sexless marriage and online influencer Lauren is not telling the truth on Instagram. We talk about writing fiction, finding inspiration and the power of saying no. Also wanted to take this opportunity to mention that since this interview Dawn has launched a Patreon page where she says writing, videos, competitions, it’s really fun and a great place to hang out if you’re a fan of Dawn’s work. #311 Georgina Lawton: On Her Book 'Raceless'

Georgina Lawton is a twenty-something journalist, weekly Guardian columnist, travel writer and host of Audible's DNA podcast, The Secrets In Us — a series that looks into 'do-it-yourself' DNA testing kits and Georgina follows the stories of those learning to live with the results.  Georgina’s debut book Raceless is out now, a stunning family memoir exploring race, identity and the devastating effect of long-held secrets within a happy family. It is a moving examination of how racial identity is constructed—through the author’s own journey grappling with secrets and stereotypes, having been raised by white parents with no explanation as to why she looked black. The memoir investigates the question: what constitutes our sense of self? In this beautifully written memoir she grapples with difficult questions about love, shame, grief, and prejudice, and reveals the nuanced and emotional journey of forming one’s identity. Hope you enjoy this conversation.Buy Raceless here: https://uk.bookshop.org/a/153/9780751579383Listen to Georgina's Audible original series here: https://www.audible.co.uk/pd/The-Secrets-in-Us-Audiobook/B08LLHGGF4  Hosted on Acast.
