Sound Teams vs. Worship Leaders: 3 Ways Sound Teams Influence Their Church's Worship Culture

If you're a "production guy" involved in a church, it's crucial that you understand that before anything else, you are a worship leader. You have the power to set the tone before anyone else walks in - the power to freak out or sing out - the power to curate a safe, healthy, vulnerable, freeing environment for people to pursue presence over presentation - or the opposite - cynical, stressful, "I'm in charge" "hate the musicians" atmosphere that breeds contempt and lifeless church environments with quick turnover and a lonely life. It's entirely up to you. In episode 108, Brenton Miles shares his experience running sound in and out of the church, and what more sound teams can be doing to empower their worship team. The console is just another instrument, and the band and production crew are ALL the "worship team." Don't miss this powerful episode made specifically for anyone involved in church production! We hope this episode brings encouragement and practical tips to strengthen your worship teams. Listen in and share! --- If you like what you hear, please leave us a review! Finding Your Voice with Leanna Crawford

How do you find your voice as a worship leader? This week we are joined by artist and songwriter, Leanna Crawford to talk about finding your sound. Leanna Crawford is an incredible vocalist and songwriter out of Nashville and tours regularly with artists such as Michael W. Smith, Matthew West, Jeremy Camp, Tenth Avenue North, and Matt Maher. Her passion is to serve young women who struggle with self-doubt and insecurity through music that empowers them. In episode 106, Leanna shares her story about what it took for her to find her voice and pursue her calling. It's our constant downfall as humans to compare ourselves to others. But here's the thing... there will always be someone out there who's better than you and that's OKAY. Because comparison is the number one thing you can do to prevent owning who you are. Perfection is a religious mindset and an unreachable goal. The pursuit of perfection only leads to disappointment but the pursuit of a relationship with God brings life. No matter your situation, your skill, where you live, none of that matters because you have a voice inside you that the enemy will never stop trying to hide. Don't miss this incredible episode on HOW TO FIND YOUR VOICE. Listen now! And be sure to check out her latest single, "Funeral" out now! --- If you like what you hear, please leave us a review! Hope Darst is an incredible worship leader for The Belonging Co. in Nashville, TN, and has been traveling the world for over a decade leading worship with Women of Faith, Every Nation Ministries, Christ for All Nations, and many more. Redefining Your Creativity and The Importance of Taking Risks in Music [with Jordan Holt]

Is the Church playing it safe when it comes to creativity? In podcast episode 104, we are honored to be joined by Jordan Holt (Worship Online Instructor/Guitarist for Kari Jobe) to talk about redefining your creativity and the importance of taking risks! Creativity in definition is about doing something NEW. If you want to thrive in life you have to be willing to get uncomfortable. You have to be willing to try new things with no predictable outcome and you need to be willing to embrace failure. "Failure is an option here. If things are not failing you are not innovating." - Elon Musk In episode 104, we talk about the importance of surrounding yourself with people who are moving forward, how Christ modeled creativity, and how much we can impact the church if we were only willing to take more RISKS. Suicide & Depression in the Church & What You Can Do About It with Andrea Hamilton

This week's episode comes to you preceded by lots of prayer as we talk about suicide and depression in the Church. In 2018, Andrew Stoecklein, the pastor of Inland Hills Church in California, took his own life. Just less than two weeks before, Andrew had preached a sermon on depression and suicide, and how to battle it. The Church was in shock... it didn't make sense. Approximately one million people a year commit suicide and their pastor was one of them. In episode 103, we are honored to be joined by worship leader at Inland Hills Church, Andrea Hamilton. When Andrew died, Inland Hills Church desperately needed their leaders to rise up, and Andrea did just that. This episode is meant to educate, and help us all to be more aware of the warning signs of suicide. Especially in the Church wherein some situations, mental illness has been perceived to be the result of spiritual weakness. Listen in as Andrea shares her story about how Andrew's death affected her and the Church, and how even through it all, Inland Hills grew stronger and more alive than ever. We pray this episode empowers and encourages you all and if there's anything we can do to better serve you through this podcast, please let us know.
