Redefining Medicine with special guest Dr. Thomas Guilliams
Thomas G. Guilliams, PhD, earned his doctorate from the Medical College of Wisconsin (Milwaukee) where he studied molecular immunology in the Microbiology Department. Since 1996, he has spent his time studying the mechanisms and actions of natural-based therapies, and is an expert in the therapeutic uses of nutritional supplements. As the VP of Scientific Affairs for Ortho Molecular Products, he has developed a wide array of products and programs which allow clinicians to use nutritional supplements and lifestyle interventions as safe, evidence-based and effective tools for a variety of patients. Tom holds appointments as a Clinical Instructor at the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy and the George Washington University, and also lectures at University of Minnesota School of Pharmacy. He is the founder and director of the Point Institute, an independent research and publishing organization through which he has published several books describing evidence-based principles and protocols for the use of lifestyle and nutritional interventions. He lives outside of Stevens Point, Wisconsin with his wife and children.

Redefining Medicine with special guest Dr. Filomena Trindade
Filomena Trindade, MD, MPH, ABFM, ABOIM, FAARM, IFMCP is a physician, teacher, author, and internationally sought after lecturer in functional medicine. She is faculty at the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and in the fellowship program in Metabolic Medicine at Metabolic Medical Institute (MMI). After obtaining her BA degree in Biology she went on to finish a master's in Public Health in the area of environmental health and epidemiology before starting medical school. She graduated first in her class in family practice from the University of California Davis School of Medicine and did her residency training in family practice at the U.C. San Francisco/Santa Rosa Program. She has been in clinical practice for over 24 years. Before starting her own private practice in 2004 in functional medicine she was the medical director of a non-profit organization that catered to the underserved. She recently authored a chapter on Nutritional Influences on Hormonal Health in the Integrative and Functional Medicine Nutrition Therapy Textbook and another chapter on Diabetes in the Integrative Cardiovascular Medicine textbook. Other publications include Townsend Letter, Guide to Anti- Aging & Regenerative Medicine, Saúde Actual, and the Border Health Journal. She is currently very active in her Saudade Certification Program, in mentoring other health providers and in her health retreats in Azores, her homeland. Redefining Medicine with special guest Leigh Frame
Dr. Frame brings nutrition and immunity together through clinical, translational research. Her T-shaped expertise in health, wellness, science, and medicine was developed through her experience in biomedical research and overseeing research and education programs, including the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke Parkinson's Disease Biomarkers Program. Dr. Frame is building an Integrative Medicine research program at GW University School of Medicine and Health Sciences while directing graduate education programs. Her interests include the role of the microbiome and nutrition in health, the consequences of malnutrition in obesity, vitamin D as an immune-modulatory hormone, and research ethics.
