Are You Seeking Something Too Perfect?
Perfectionism might be the thief that's stealing your joy and you don't even realize it. What if the only upgrade you truly need is your thinking? In this thought-provoking episode, I explore our tendency to zero in on tiny imperfections while completely missing the beauty of what's already before us.Think about those vacation photos where all you notice is your messy hair or that awkward sign in the background - missing entirely that these images capture beautiful, irreplaceable moments. Or consider how we do this with people: having an ambitious, loving partner but fixating on their occasional lateness, or enjoying a stable job but complaining about the office snacks (yes, those Oreos became a legitimate point of contention at my previous workplace!).And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! What Do You Wanna Do This Weekend?
Feeling exhausted has become almost a badge of honor in today's hyper-productive culture. We push through tiredness, override our desires, and fill our calendars with obligations until we can barely recognize what we truly want anymore. This disconnect between our actions and our authentic desires is exactly what I witnessed while coaching a high-achieving woman recently.Despite being typically decisive, this woman found herself paralyzed by a simple weekend decision. As we worked through her mental fatigue, I asked her to set aside all external expectations and answer one question: "What do you want?" The answer wasn't about productivity, networking, or self-improvement.And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! Imagine This...
Have you ever stopped to marvel at how dramatically different your life is from those who lived just a few centuries ago? Drawing from recent explorations into historical literature and media, this episode reveals the extraordinary power of human imagination that shapes our everyday reality.Picture this: ancestors trudging to wells for water while we enjoy hot showers at the touch of a button. The wealthy of yesteryear laboriously filling bathtubs with heated buckets while modern plumbing gives us instant comfort. These transformations didn't happen by accident—they began as ideas in someone's mind. What we casually call "manifesting" today is actually conscious creation stemming from our uniquely human capacity to imagine possibilities that don't yet exist. From running water to air conditioning, from pillows to skyscrapers, everything beneficial in our modern world began as someone's "crazy idea." No other species possesses this extraordinary ability to envision and then bring into being. And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! The Biggest Sign Of Self-Love
What does genuine self-love actually look like in practice? Beyond the spa days and positive affirmations lies something far more profound: the courage to define success on your own terms.Society constantly bombards us with metrics of achievement that rarely align with what truly fulfills us. While external definitions of success vary across cultures and communities—some valuing certain professions over others, some prioritizing status symbols—they all share a common thread: they're externally imposed rather than internally derived. Fame, money, and influence are universally celebrated, yet chasing these without questioning their personal relevance keeps us trapped in cycles of validation-seeking.As someone who left a $500,000 tech position to pursue coaching a decade ago, I can attest that following your heart's guidance—even when it appears irrational to others—can be the most profound act of self-love possible. True self-love manifests as a self-directed life where your energy, time, and resources flow toward what genuinely matters to you. This might look like making career changes or simply choosing where to eat lunch based on your authentic preferences rather than external expectations. And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! Anxious? Get Out Of Your Head And Into Your Hands.
Anxiety strikes at the most unexpected moments, even when everything seems perfect on the surface. That's exactly what happened to me recently—business thriving, marriage solid, health good—yet there I was, feeling uncharacteristically anxious for days. My immediate response? Desperately searching for the cause so I could eliminate it quickly. This reflexive resistance to uncomfortable emotions is something most of us do. We reach for quick fixes—a glass of wine, online shopping, social media scrolling—anything to escape the discomfort. But as I reminded myself during that anxious period, "whatever we resist persists." Those emotions we try to banish only stick to us more stubbornly, like Velcro to our consciousness. The breakthrough came when I shifted from chasing happiness to pursuing clarity instead. Rather than fighting against anxiety, I allowed it to exist, acknowledging its temporary nature. As Martha Beck wisely advises, "Get out of your head and into your hands." Simple physical activities—reorganizing a drawer, sorting through old makeup, arranging clothes by color—can pull us out of the tyranny of anxious thoughts. These mundane tasks become powerful tools for breaking anxiety's grip by redirecting our attention to something tangible and present. And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! A Sign You Could Be In Survival Mode...
Have you ever completed something important and felt nothing but relief? That subtle response might be a warning sign you're living in survival mode without even realizing it. Throughout my own journey, I discovered this pattern in myself—finishing significant projects and immediately moving on instead of celebrating achievements. This episode unpacks this common tendency, particularly prevalent among high-achieving individuals, to chase the next exhale rather than experience true satisfaction.Relief certainly has its place in our emotional spectrum. That flood of gratitude when finding a lost item or avoiding a dreaded mistake is valuable. But are we shortchanging ourselves by setting our emotional ceiling there? Where is the accomplishment, joy, peace, satisfaction, and celebration? Many of us have trained ourselves to bypass these elevated states entirely, conditioning ourselves to perpetually seek the next challenge before processing our wins. And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! The Next Level Of Saying "No"
Have you ever noticed how a seemingly small commitment can hijack your entire day? That's the paradox we explore in this thought-provoking episode about the hidden cost of saying yes to minor requests.I share a personal experience that many of us will find painfully familiar – agreeing to a brief 10-minute appearance at a friend's book launch while recovering from jet lag. Despite the actual event requiring minimal time, I found myself in "waiting mode" for hours, unable to fully relax or focus on her needed recovery. This phenomenon, beautifully captured in Charles Dickens' observation that "the mere consciousness of an engagement will sometimes worry a whole day," affects us all more than we might realize. And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! Why Earning For Yourself Feels Scarier Than Earning For Others
Why does making money in a corporate job feel easier than earning as ourselves? This question perfectly captures a struggle so many face when transitioning to entrepreneurship or self-employment.The answer lies deeper than mere confidence or skill. When we earn as our full selves, we experience a vulnerability that corporate structures shield us from. Standing behind a company logo means rejection feels less personal—it's the organization being rejected, not us. But when we put our own name and face forward, everything changes. The fear of judgment intensifies, and our nervous system responds accordingly. And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! People Who Can't Self-Regulate, Manipulate
Have you ever wondered why certain people in your life constantly try to control situations and manipulate others? Today's episode offers a profound insight that might forever change how you view these challenging dynamics.Drawing from wisdom shared by Abraham Hicks, I explore the revolutionary concept that "people who don't calibrate manipulate." This simple yet powerful observation explains so much about human behavior and our relationships. When someone hasn't developed the ability to regulate their own emotions—to calibrate themselves to different situations—they often resort to controlling others as a way to feel better. And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)! "Is calling my ex inspired action?"
Deciphering the subtle language of our inner guidance system can be tricky, especially when our hearts pull us toward situations that might not serve our highest good. This revealing episode tackles a question many of us face: How do we know when that compelling urge to take action (particularly with past relationships) is divine intuition versus our ego playing tricks?Drawing from listener questions about reconnecting with exes, I unpack the crucial differences between true inspired action and ego-driven impulses. While both can generate excitement, they lead to vastly different outcomes. True intuition guides us toward expansion despite sometimes seeming impractical or risky—"It's like God talking to us, saying 'I've got you.'" Meanwhile, ego-based urges often arise from momentary loneliness or boredom, disguising themselves as intuition while potentially leading us back to harmful situations. And, as a special bonus, I want to give you FREE access to my signature course, Slay Your Year (usually $997)!
