A New Day Dawning | Jesus' Sacrifice

Two of the most important holidays on the calendar are Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Without the Lord’s death (commemorated on Good Friday), there’s no forgiveness of sin. And regarding the Resurrection, Paul said “if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain, your faith also is in vain.” As we prepare for Good Friday and Easter, Pastor Greg Laurie brings a special message today on A NEW BEGINNING. Insight to help us gain a fuller appreciation for the Lord’s sacrifice. Listen on harvest.org --- Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org . Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us investigate those factors that can keep our prayers from reaching God’s throne. We’re in a practical series of lessons in the Gospel of Mark titled, The Gospel for Busy People. And today, we’ll see how to undergird our prayers with faith and with a proper attitude and respect for our God. Listen on harvest.org --- Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org . Everyone Needs Jesus | The Savior's Touch

We all need a touch from the Lord. And the Lord is ready to reach out. But too often, we’re touched, and jostled, and pummeled by the world around us . . . and we can’t seem to climb out from under the dogpile to feel the touch of the Lord. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us draw inspiration and practical instruction from a pairing of stories in the New Testament when Jesus’ touch came to just the right people at just the right time. Good encouragement is ahead. Listen on harvest.org --- Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org . How to (and How Not to) Pray | Sunday Message

What does your prayer life look like? Pastor Greg Laurie helps us stay on the right track as we examine the way Jesus instructed His disciples to pray. Notes: Matthew 6 Jesus did what the disciples had asked; and in doing so, He was acknowledging that prayer is something that can be learned. The Lord’s prayer shows us how to pray Jesus’ way. But first, Jesus shows us how not to pray. Read: Matthew 6:5–8 Sin knows no boundaries; it afflicts us when we are far from God and follows us to the very throne of Heaven. It is possible to pray with no thought of God Himself. Prayer is not to inform God but, rather, to invite God. The response to the question: “Lord, teach us to pray.” Read: Matthew 6:9–13 We pray to a Father in Heaven who loves us. A Father who loves and misses His children when they go astray. A Father that longs for communication and fellowship with us. God is not just our Father; He is our “abba” or “daddy.” Romans 8:15 We begin our prayers with “our Father.” Then, we are to worship Him and contemplate Him before we offer our petitions. Matthew 6:9 – “Hallowed be Your name.” When we pray, we should always ask for God’s Will to be done. Matthew 6:10 Prayer is not getting my will in Heaven, but it is God’s Will on Earth. 1 John 5:14 Nothing lies outside the reach of prayer except that which lies outside the Will of God. God only answers the requests which He inspires. Prayer is not pulling God to my will, but the aligning of my will to the Will of God. We should pray for God’s Kingdom to come. Matthew 6:10 When we pray, “Thy Kingdom come,” we are praying for God’s rule on Earth. Revelation 11:15 The word come indicates a sudden, instantaneous coming. 2 Peter 3:14 God’s Kingdom is brought to this Earth every time a new soul is brought to Jesus. We should be praying for the salvation of nonbelievers. We should pray a person sees their need for Jesus. We need to bring our personal needs before God. Matthew 6:11 Job 7:17 When you ask someone to give you something, you are acknowledging that they own it. We are completely dependent on God; God is completely independent from us. You will never have a proper relationship to all of your possessions until you understand that everything you have, everything that you need, and everything that you own comes from God. Everything we have, ultimately, comes from God! James 1:17 Deuteronomy 8:18 James 4:2 Romans 8:32 We need to pray for personal forgiveness, and we need to forgive others. Matthew 6:12 Forgiven people should be forgiving people. Matthew 6:12 “Everyone thinks forgiveness is a lovely idea until they have someone to forgive.” —C.S. Lewis If we harbor resentment and fail to forgive, we grieve the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 4:30–32 We need to pray to not fall into temptation. Everyone Needs Jesus | God's Timing Isn't Ours

We live in an instant society. Heat up something in the microwave in seconds, not minutes or hours. Get a message to someone on the other side of the planet in a split second, not days or weeks. Should it be any wonder then why we assume our prayers shouldn’t happen lickety-split? Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie says, as it happens, God’s clocks run on a different schedule than ours. We’ll see our timing is often impetuous . . . His timing is always perfect. God Is Bigger Than Your Problem | Treatment for Spiritual Ills

Medical science has come a long way in the last century. Little more than a hundred years ago, doctors treated many maladies by bloodletting! Now there are so many targeted medications, they have to get creative with the names . . . like Cisplatin, Moxifloxacin and Pancuronium. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie says we should treat our spiritual ills with a kind of targeted, effective treatment. Treatment recommended by our Maker. God Is Bigger Than Your Problem | God's Power Against Evil

Some people are into trucks. The more power, the more capacity, the bigger, the better. Consider the Belaz 75710 mining truck. It weighs 750,000 pounds – empty. And its tires are 13 feet tall. There’s no comparison to consumer pickup trucks. Well today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out that there’s no comparison between our enemy and our God. God’s power and capabilities are infinite. Listen on harvest.org --- Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org . The Golden Key to Spiritual Growth | Practicing Obedience to God

Surprisingly, 20 to 30 percent of prescriptions for chronic health conditions are never filled . . . and about half are not taken as prescribed. Think about that. We go to the doctor, he or she examines us and gives us the medication to make us better. All we gotta do is take the pills . . . and an alarming number don’t! Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie points out the Bible’s prescription for growing spiritually . . . but, same thing, we’ve got to follow the Great Physician’s instructions. The Golden Key to Spiritual Growth | Cause and Effect

So much of life is a study of cause and effect. We wonder why we get so many speeding tickets. Hmm . . . could it be that we drive too fast? Or wonder why it’s so hard to get up in the morning. Maybe it’s linked to how easy it is to stay up late the night before. Today on A NEW BEGINNING, Pastor Greg Laurie helps us study cause and effect as it relates to success in the Christian life. Jesus paid the price for our salvation, but we’ll see maturity and spiritual growth are up to us. Listen on harvest.org --- Learn more and subscribe to Harvest updates at harvest.org .
