If you wish just tune in and we will invite you through the StreamYard link.   Charlie Perry is a 30 year retired Police Officer in the New Bedford Police Department.  He has worked in Patrol, Juvenile Detective, School Resource Officer, Detective Division, Criminal Records Bureau serving the city of New Bedford in various capacities.  Charlie is an accomplished poet and is in the band, KS & The Lifted.  He currently hosts the Really Charlie podcast on Anchor by Spotify and is the host on WNB One Radio with Host Russell Ramos.  Marvin (CoachM100) is a Mental Health Caregiver Coach who helps those who struggle and need support as a caregiver for friends and family members that are afflicted with mental setbacks.  Marvin (CoachM100) helps them transition through these challenges, moves the needle with them in regards to their own self-care, and provides lasting coping skills. Marvin (CoachM100) has spent over thirty years as an operational leader, educator, self-help advocate, coach activist, and implementation specialist.  Marvin (CoachM100) works in the local communities as a certified master health, life and transformational coach. Marvin (CoachM100) has coached hundreds of people over the last 30 years helping men and women, who have personally had breakthrough moments.  His vast business acumen, deep community connections, and his purpose have given him the foundation to take our community, from here to there. His lasting relationships with people of all backgrounds, has allowed him to relate to a community in dire need. He created his Man UP Program, to help uplift men. Marvin moved to Los Angeles, CA from Charlotte, NC, where he was an activist for numerous Domestic Violence organizations, Charlotte Reads Program, Habitat for Humanity, Aids Walk, and Girl Talk. Marvin has given his time and support to underserved youth throughout the Charlotte area. Marvin contributed his image to several Billboards in Charlotte to promote literacy amongst children 5-12 years old. Once he arrived in Los Angeles, CA, he has continued to uplift the community of Los Angeles contributing his voice to the Minority Outreach Symposium with Political Leaders, Law Enforcement, Homelessness Woodland Hills Residents, Our Rise Up programs, and several Domestic Violence Shelter & Safety programs. He looks forward to taking many people in the community from here to there...

School Committee member Melissa M. Ortega Costa and I had the opportunity to appear on the “Really Charlie”podcast last night. Charlie and I set up discussions each Wednesday after Monday’s monthly School Committee meeting with other members to discuss our roles, our goals, and our aspirations. It’s important for our community to know who they elected and what we’re up to. Melissa and I discussed civic duty; the importance of modeling; adding fresh new eyes and ears to this particular arena; why it’s important that people like us run; and why being involved matters. Melissa went into depth on her role regarding finances and the proposed budget for our schools. We did our best to make it informative and we had a great time. Thank you Charlie and Melissa! THE WOMEN'S NATIONAL D-LEAGUE INC. IS THE PARENT COMPANY  OF THE WOMEN'S D-LEAGUE/WNDL AND IT'S AFFILATE COMPANIES ARE LOCATED IN NEW YORK, CONNECTICUT, NEW JERSEY, PHILADELPIA, GEORGIA, MILWAUKEE, CAROLINA AND MINNESOTA. The Women’s National Developmental League was started to provide talented women an opportunity to showcase their skills in a competitive league. Each year, there are approximately 35 open draft slots for new WNBA players.  The NCAA estimates that only 3% of draft-eligible NCAA Division I women’s basketball graduates make it to the WNBA professional ranks. For those not interested in disrupting their lives to head overseas and join a professional team, the options were limited.... Until Now. The Women’s National D-League Inc. (WNDL) is comprised of 8  professional teams which are largely backed by the  (WNDL). Created in 2017, all WNDL teams are controlled by a franchise owner. The WNDL is the official Women’s D-League to prepare players, coaches, officials, trainers, and front-office staff for the WNDL. All while also acting as the league’s research and development league. All affiliate teams are franchises under WNDL. All 8 teams are competitive with one another. The league offers elite women’s professional basketball competition at an affordable price in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere. WNDL and it's Affiliated Teams are looking to make a strong impact in sports, entertainment and venue management. It is dedicated to recruiting and developing individuals with the skills, experience, desire and values to contribute to the continued growth and success of our organization. Together, we will transform events into experiences! These experiences will create excitement, turn heads, and make ground breaking memories, while providing a League to help young female athletes be able to continue their dream of playing basketball competively here in the United States. The winter league’s season will run from November through March where the quality of play will be high. The level of competition will be fierce and it will provide a great afternoon or evening of family fun to watch. Where fans can expect a fun, family-friendly environment which will be highlighted with dancers, entertainment squads and off-the-court fun, such as raffles, contests and meeting players. They will see some of the best basketball’s rising stars in high-level competition who are looking to make an impact at the next level in The WND-League.
