The Gospel Simplicity Podcast is centered around the conviction that the gospel is really good news. Here you will find conversations with Christians from various traditions as we seek to unpack the beautiful simplicity and transformative power of the gospel. Gospel Simplicity is known for ecumenical dialogue that is charitable and open to learning from people with whom you might disagree. We believe that God desires for his Church to be one, united in love for God and neighbor, and on mission to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people.

Has Christianity Gotten Too EASY? (w/ Fr. Dwight Longenecker)
Can a Catholic Priest and an Evangelical theology student agree on the gospel? In this video, Fr. Dwight Longenecker and I discuss the question of why so many Christians are leaving the faith, and Fr. Dwight gives the intriguing idea that it's not because Christianity has become too difficult, but rather that Christianity has become too weak, too easy, and that the true Gospel has been replaced with a gospel of Moral Therapeutic Deism. Life of a Married Catholic Priest (w/ Fr. Dwight Longenecker)
For many people, "married Catholic priest" is going to sound like a bit of an oxymoron. After all, don't Catholic priests have to take a vow of celibacy? In this video, I talk with Fr. Dwight Longenecker, a former Anglican who converted to Roman Catholicism and was ordained into the Roman Catholic priesthood, all while being a husband and father. In this video we explore why the Catholic church allows some married priests, whether the Catholic church will ever reverse their discipline of celibate priesthood, and what it's like to be a married priest. We had a great time, and I hope you enjoy this. I'd love to know in the comments, should the Catholic church allow more married priests, or should priests have to be celibate? Learn more about Fr. A Protestant talks to Catholics Experts on Mary (w/ William Albrecht and Fr. Christiaan Kappes)
In this episode, I talk with William Albrecht and Fr. Christiaan Kappes about Mary. In this conversation, we focus on what the Bible has to say about Mary. Often times, conversations on Mary center around tradition, and while that's a worthwhile conversation, if Protestants and Catholics want to find common ground on Mary, it's essential that we look to the Bible and see what Scripture teaches about Mary. Is it enough to merit the Marian dogmas? Are the Marian dogmas Biblical or are they all blown way out of proportion? After all, what does the Bible even say about Mary?Buy their book: https://amzn.to/3bTWxjeWilliam's Website: https://www.patristicpillars.comReason and Theology YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9Z-...Study with Fr. What is the Catholic Magisterium and is it Biblical?
As an outsider looking in, the magisterium is one of the most distinctive features of Catholicism. In this video, I talk with Michael Lofton of Reason and Theology about the Catholic magisterium, what it is, and how it works. We discuss layers of authority within the magisterium, important distinctions about magisterial authority, and perhaps most importantly, Michael Lofton presents biblical and historical arguments for the Catholic magisterium. My name is Austin, and I'm a 22 year old guy who’s passionate about the beautiful simplicity and transformative power of the gospel. I believe that the gospel, the good news about Jesus, is really good news, and I’m out to explore, unpack, and share that good news with as many people as possible. I'm a full blown Bible and Church History nerd that loves getting to dialogue with others about this, learning as much as I can, and then teaching whatever I can. I grew up around Frederick, MD where I eventually ended up working my first job at a church. They made the mistake of letting me try my hand at teaching, and instantly I fell in love. That set me on a path for further education, and I'm currently a student at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, studying theology.
