Episode 65: How to NOT Pick a Good Shoe

I'm going to give you some negative advice, how to not pick a good running shoe on today's episode of The MOVEMENT Movement podcast.  I think it's important to know how not to do things in order to inform how to do things. Even when I'm teaching people how to run naturally or run barefoot, I'll often have them exaggerate bad patterns because that way it really highlights what that pattern is and makes it easier to start doing something different.  I'm Steven Sashen from XeroShoes.com, your host of The MOVEMENT Movement podcast, where we're creating a movement about natural movement. Episode 64: What Shoes Did Jesus Wear?

What shoes did Jesus wear? Or Moses or Muhammad or Buddha? Well, we're going to take a look at that in today's episode of The MOVEMENT Movement, the podcast where people will want to know the truth about what it takes to have a happy, healthy, strong body starting with the feet first, because those things are your foundation. And did I mentioned enjoyably? Yes, I know I did, but that's the most important part. If it ain't fun, do something different till it is. I'm Steven Sashen from XeroShoes.com, your host of The MOVEMENT Movement podcast, where we're creating a movement about natural movement. How do you fix your feet, relieve foot pain and create functional, healthy feet that will help you hike a mountain, run a marathon or just walk to get groceries? We’re going to find out more about that on today’s episode on The MOVEMENT Movement podcast with my special guest Petra Fisher. I'm Steven Sashen, host of The MOVEMENT Movement Podcast, and we call it that because we are creating a movement about movement, more accurately, we are trying to remind people, help them rediscover that natural movement is the obvious better healthy choice, the way we currently think natural food is. Episode 59: Native American Running Tips

Many people like to think this whole idea of barefoot running, or natural movement is new, but what if it's actually really old and we have not been learning from the masters of it?  Today's guest is Joseph Mora, originally from Southern California, he's been running on and off for most of his life, running in the bare foot fashion for about 10-12 years. Joseph has been a student of Native American thought and philosophy for most of his life. He lives in the Southwest and has a lot of roots there. He takes the philosophies, tenants of the Hopi way and the Native American way of being and running, and incorporates those into his lifestyle. We're going to find out more about that on today's episode of The MOVEMENT Movement Podcast, the podcast for people who want to know the truth about what it takes to run, to walk, to hike, or whatever it is you like to do, enjoy-ably, and effectively.  If you have any questions, just drop an email to move@jointhemovementmovement.com.  To connect with Joseph, his website will be available in June at aztlantimes.org.

Well, let's take a look at that in today's episode of The MOVEMENT Movement, the podcast for people who want to know the truth about what it takes to have a happy, healthy, strong body, starting with the feet first, those things are your foundation after all. Where we take a look at the propaganda, the mythology sometimes the outright lies that you may have heard about what it takes to run, to walk, to hike, to do Yoga, CrossFit, or whatever it is that you do. Whatever it is you do enjoyably, effectively, easily. I think I start with enjoyable, I'll end with enjoyable, too, because we want to focus on that. If it isn't fun, don't do it, do something different, until it's fun. Now, obviously, I'm not a doctor, I don't play one on TV, I don't play one on the internet, I don't play one when I'm podcasting. I'm giving the best information that I have, based on what my experience has been, and my research and reading. If I'm incorrect, please let me know, and I will update things. We're getting new information all the time.  * Please Note: Outside Magazine takes on this same topic (hey, I saw it AFTER I recorded ;-) ) https://www.outsideonline.com/2412928/runner-mask-backlash-coronavirus

Episode 57: What do shoes REALLY cost?

You just spent $50 or $100 or $200 on a pair of shoes. You get your credit card bill, it says $50 or $100 or $200, is that what you really paid? I know that's a weird sounding question, but we're going to find out what the real cost and value of shoes are, on today's episode of The MOVEMENT Movement Podcast, the podcast for people who want to know that truth about what it takes to have a happy, healthy, strong body starting with the feet first, because those things are your foundation. Alright, let's talk about the cost of shoes. So you can buy shoes at all different prices, obviously, anything from just a couple of bucks at Walmart or Target, to hundreds of dollars. I'm not going to be talking about the kind of collectible shoes, the way people line up for days to get the newest pair of Air Jordans and trade them, there's a secondary market for that. It's like investing practically. I'm going to talk about things that you wear every day, all day. Episode 56: Be Bad At Many Things

Whatever activity you're doing, whether it's Yoga or running, or climbing or hiking or lifting, you want to be better at it, right? Maybe not, maybe it would be better if you got bad at a lot of things, but we're going to be looking at that and much, much more, on today's episode of The MOVEMENT Movement Podcast, the podcast for people who want to know the truth about what it takes to have a happy, healthy, strong body, typically starting with the feet first. because those things are your foundation. I'm your host Steven Sashen and we're going to be debunking the mythology, the propaganda, sometimes the outright lies that people have told you about what it takes to run to walk, to hike, to dance, to lift, to do all those things you like to do and do that enjoyably, efficiently and effectively by using your body naturally. We call this MOVEMENT Movement because it's a movement about movement. More specifically about natural movement, again, about letting your body do what it's supposed to do, and it's a movement because it involves you. It's something that doesn't happen because I'm saying it, because I'm trying to push it. It's all the people who discover the value and benefits of natural movement who are making this happen, creating this groundswell, this grassroots movement of trying to get people to move. If you want to be part of this, it's really easy, go to www.jointhemovementmovement.com, that's where you'll find previous episodes and all the different ways you can engage with us. You can also find us in the various podcast directories, and of course do me a favor and spread the word; like and share and review and give a thumbs-up, where that's appropriate. And subscribe where that's appropriate, and hit the bell on YouTube. Basically, if you wanna be part of the tribe, please subscribe in all the ways that you can do that.
