Advent Reflection: Grace on the Move
On This Week's Episode:
This week, you're going to hear something a bit different from our normal episodes. Many of you know that Nick O'Brien is actually a worship pastor at a local church in Central Florida called Georgianna. (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMv_nZjDUH9eldn0fd9TRKg)
This week, we're re-playing a sermon that Nick preached last Christmas season as it has never been heard by the listeners of The Living Room Disciple. This is an amazing reminder about why we celebrate the Advent season and focus our hearts and minds on the coming King.

How The Gospel is Shaped By Cultural Context
We're excited to talk about the good news of Jesus Christ.
And more specifically, how our view of the Gospel can actually be shaped by our culture. Now of course, we believe that salvation is by God's grace through faith in Jesus but is this the heart of the Gospel in the New Testament?
Today, we're trying our best to cut through the cultural noise to get to the heart of the good news, in hopes that we'll be transformed by the news that Christ is King. So let's dive in!

Learning from Global Christianity—Featuring Kate Boyd
Today we are joined by Kate Boyd, a Bible teacher and the author of An Untidy Faith. Kate has a powerful story of traveling the world and seeing that Christianity is so much bigger than the little slice of American evangelicalism she grew up in. So, whether we recognize it or not, we're all formed by the faith communities that surround us. In this conversation, Kate helps us see that we can all find a lot of growth when we step outside of our comfort zone.
Kate Boyd is the author of An Untidy Faith (Herald Press, April 2023), creator of the Threaded Bible studies, and host of the Untidy Faith podcast. She helps weary and wounded Christians rebuild their relationship with Scripture and community and love God and their neighbors with their whole selves. She holds a masters in theological studies with an emphasis in biblical studies from Perkins School of Theology.
