It goes without saying, if you want to build a business, it is absolutely critical to build it right, and to build it right from the very beginning. The current events taking place are a the perfect case study as to why this is so important. Companies like Airbnb, We Work, and the like have taken a massive hit these past few months as the world has all but stopped turning. And not only have these companies taken a massive hit, so have the companies and individuals who utilize their services and that invested in them. But how, how can a multi-billion dollar company lose more than half its value in such a short time? How are so many other once profitable businesses failing? Because they didn’t or they don’t own the systems that allow their businesses to operate, scale, and truly succeed in any market condition. Today we’re going to talk about how you can take control of your business and your future. We have a special guest on the show today who has been in real estate for over twenty years and now invests heavily in manufactured home communities. It’s my pleasure to welcome Kevin Bupp, CEO of Sunrise Capital Investors. Kevin got his start in real estate at the early age of nineteen by finding and working with a mentor. As you hear from most any successful individual, the importance of finding a mentor is critical. We go over exactly how Kevin built a relationship with his mentor that helped propel him to the successes he experiences today. This time, we have the pleasure of spending some time with Damion Lupo. Damion’s personal finance and investing journey started when he was in college. His college didn’t last long however, as he was kicked out for refusing to shut down a bookstore that he had started that was putting the campus bookstore out of business. Damion obviously didn’t stop there. A huge topic of discussion throughout this podcast is taking action… massive action. Damion shares how he went from investing in one house, to investing in one hundred and fifty houses in three and a half years. The Great Recession of 2008 however hit Damion hard and forced him to look at himself and his strategies moving forward. Damion shares how success was a horrible teacher, the importance of training, studying, and building a team around yourself for what it is that you want to succeed at. A common theme here at Cashflow 2 Freedom is that you cannot build success on an island, we have to have a team and resources outside of ourselves to deploy that allow us to reach our true potentials. Going further into this episode we talk finance. We talk about retirement and how we can all diversify our investing strategies to be able to weather the ups and downs of the market. I want to talk about an email I received from an unhappy C2F listener who didn’t like that we talked so much about macroeconomics and the effects. Before I dive into the email and go over why macroeconomics are so important, I share why we here at Cashflow 2 Freedom are so passionate about creating cashflowing assets that allow us to live financially free. I’ve shared my backstory before here on the podcast, but I know we have a lot of new listeners jumping on all the time. If you know anything about me, having financial freedom and these cashflowing assets literally saved my life and my family’s lives. That said, thank you for tuning in and being a part of Cashflow 2 Freedom. It makes me truly proud that you all are on the same path. Now… on to business. In this episode I go over the importance of macroeconomics and the truly massive impact that they can and do have on our economy and everything attached to it. Macroeconomics in short is how the government interacts with and affects the economy via monetary policy and other factors. The current downturn we’re experiencing due to the Coronavirus is that time for opportunity.   Opportunity, however, doesn’t always present itself in the ways that we think it would.
