SDGs: A Framework for Investing

Since the inception of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, there has been a universal call to action to ensure peace and prosperity across the UN’s 193 member states by 2030. From an economic perspective, these SDGs are a powerful tool for investors to apply sustainable thinking to their decision-making process and implement them into company engagement practices. But now that we are past the halfway point, we can’t help but ask, is the UN on track to meet their 2030 goal or not? On this episode of Disruptive Forces, Chris Kocinski, Senior Portfolio Manager and Co-Head of U.S. High Yield, and Sarah Peasey, Director of European ESG Investing, return to the show with Anu Rajakumar to discuss how these 17 goals can be tangibly integrated into an investment process and applied as a framework for better outcomes in the future.     This podcast includes general market commentary, general investment education and general information about Neuberger Berman. The Private Equity of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

As we continue to navigate challenging market dynamics including rising inflation, difficult labor markets, elevated valuations and ongoing geopolitical tensions, investors are considering how to fill their expected return gap. Forgo FOMO: Growth Investing for the Long Term

In light of the swings in today’s market environment, investors are shifting their asset allocation decisions to accommodate its volatility. As they grapple with what the options are, we look to growth stocks, which we believe have the potential to outperform the overall market over time though may require a higher risk tolerance. And how might investors address the concept of FOMO, or fear of missing out, when it comes to investing in growth companies? The Paradigm of Purpose and Profit

As more companies across the business ecosystem face increased scrutiny on Environmental, Social, and Governance issues, the more they will need to respond. What has changed in the world that makes thinking about sustainability so critical to companies and investors? How can companies respond in a way that goes beyond ticking-the-box exercises to capitalizing on these megatrends? And what is the role of investors in terms of measuring outcomes and engaging with companies? In this special episode of Disruptive Forces, Jonathan Bailey, Head of ESG Investing, sits down with George Serafeim, the Charles M. Mythbusting Crypto Investing

Cryptocurrency, or crypto, the so-called “wild west” of Wall Street, has been raising eyebrows for quite some time now. Since 2013, there have been over 12,000 different types of coins generated, leaving many wondering what is actually reliable in this market. How to Break the Bias for Women in Finance

Across industries, we are still seeing a prominent gender gap in the corporate world despite the progress that has already been made. As men and women enter the workforce at the start of their careers, there seems to be an equal footing. But how is it that C-suite executives are predominantly represented by men despite best efforts toward tightening the gap? How can women become more visible in this case? And what role do men play in a more gender-equitable future? In this episode of Disruptive Forces, CEO of 100 Women in Finance, Amanda Pullinger, joins Anu Rajakumar to shed light on what her organization is doing to further promote gender equality in finance as well as how to encourage corporations to break the bias and set women up for success for the long run.     This podcast includes general market commentary, general investment education and general information about Neuberger Berman. Commodities: An Inflation Hedge for All Seasons?

As we see the effects of inflation taking place globally, investors may be wondering what their next move is in asset allocation. However, the inflationary environment we’re seeing today is unlike what we have seen in forty years. And what are the ESG implications behind commodities investing today? In the next episode of Disruptive Forces, Hakan Kaya, Senior Portfolio Manager for commodities strategies, and Joe McDonnell, Head of EMEA Portfolio Solutions, speak with Anu Rajakumar to share their views on how to make asset allocation decisions using commodities, what else to consider within that decision-making, as well as supply and demand dynamics over the 12-month horizon.     This podcast includes general market commentary, general investment education and general information about Neuberger Berman.
