Submerge To Reemerge with Cold Water Therapy with Laura Fullerton
So you know how I enjoy cold water therapy, throwing myself in the sea every day on the south coast of the UK... Well, I decided to chat to Laura Fullerton, Founder of Monk, the world's first smart ice bath. My first thought was to conduct the interview from inside one of the new ice baths. But with the latest models not due to be released until September, we decided on the next best thing, chatting from the water in the Serpentine at Hyde Park, London. As well as being a longtime advocate and an expert in cold water therapies, Laura also raised over £4 million of investment into Monk in the past couple of years as she works on bringing her vision to life with a waiting list in the 1000s. It's a testament to the power and popularity of cold water therapy. And with an outside air temperature not much above zero and the water temperature hovering around seven degrees, we waded into the water for about six or seven minutes and with my voice a few octaves higher. We retired to the Serpentine Lido Cafe to continue our conversation. Yes, we did get a few curious locals and the cafe manager asking what we were doing. But for the most part, we enjoyed a relatively quiet conversation about all things related to cold water therapy, a subject close to my heart.
