Top 5 Sci-Fi Guns with John Speas

We are kicking off a new series of Watchlist episodes here at Podcasting After Dark! This time, instead of the guest choosing the topic, Corey is pairing up with his BFOP Network podcasting peers to discuss Corey’s favorite things (which are mostly of a science fiction nature)!Starting with sci-fi guns, Corey felt that John Speas from The Blast From Our Past would be the perfect person to talk to about this topic. Not only do they both love Colonial Marines but John is also an avid gun collector. A match made in Pulse Rifle/Smart Gun heaven!Leave a comment on our social media pages and let us know what you think of our watchlist!Listen to The Blast From Our Past on these platforms - Apple Podcasts / Spotify / PatreonListen to Throwback Trivia Takedown on these platforms - Apple Podcasts / Spotify / PatreonFollow The Blast From Our Past on social media - Facebook / Instagram — SUPPORT PODCASTING AFTER DARK —PATREON - Two extra shows a month, including our celebrity interview series, plus videos and other exclusive content!MERCH STORE - We have a fully dedicated merch store at TeePublic with multiple designs and products!REDDIT - Join our growing Subreddit community!INSTAGRAM / FACEBOOK - Follow us on social media for updates and announcements! This podcast is part of the BFOP Network

Screamers (1995) Review

Screamers (1995) synopsis: “A military commander stationed off planet during an interplanetary war travels through the devastated landscape to negotiate a peace treaty, but discovers that the primitive robots they built to kill enemy combatants have gained sentience.”Starring: Peter Weller, Roy Dupuis, Jennifer Rubin, and Charles Edwin PowellDirector: Christian DuguayThis week on Podcasting After Dark, Corey walks us through the mid-90s cult sci-fi/horror movie, Screamers (1995)! This was a film that he always enjoyed as a kid but didn’t appreciate its greatness until he was much older. The themes and ideas being examined in Screamers holds up very well in 2021! You throw in some great set deign and fantastic performances from every actor involved and you have an amazing example of how to do low-budget sci-fi right! We highly recommend re-watching Screamers (1995) if you haven’t seen it in a while.— SUPPORT PODCASTING AFTER DARK —PATREON - Two extra shows a month, including our celebrity interview series, plus videos and other exclusive content!MERCH STORE - We have a fully dedicated merch store at TeePublic with multiple designs and products!REDDIT - Join our growing Subreddit community!INSTAGRAM / FACEBOOK - Follow us on social media for updates and announcements! This podcast is part of the BFOP Network

The Thing (2011) Review

The Thing (2011) synopsis: “At an Antarctica research site, the discovery of an alien craft leads to a confrontation between graduate student Kate Lloyd and scientist Dr. Sander Halvorson.”Starring: Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ulrich Thomsen, Trond Espen Seim, and Kristofer HivjuDirector: Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.This week on Podcasting After Dark we take a look at the 2011 prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 cult classic, The Thing! We know that the fan reception to this movie was pretty mixed when it came out but we think it does more things right than wrong. And since The Thing (1982) is our most downloaded episode it only made sense that we tackled this entry at some point. Thankfully, Morgan Creek made certain it was sooner rather than later! But just because they provided us with the movie to review doesn’t mean we’re going to hold back. We tell it like it is, both good and bad!So, sit back, pour a glass of whiskey like MacReady, and get ready to have your ears invaded by our breakdown and review of The Thing (2011)!Listen to our review of John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982): Apple / Spotify / WebsiteListen to our interview with Thomas G.
