After Berube's firing on Tuesday night, Wednesday morning Blues forward Jordan Kyrou spoke to media and seemed to express disdain for his former head coach. St. Louis fans did not take this well and boo'd Kyrou later that night. On Sunday, after starting the year 2-9-1 the Edmonton Oilers fired head coach and named Kris Knoblauch as his replacement. Knoblauch and Oilers CEO of Hockey Operations, Jeff Jackson, as well as Connor McDavid, have a long history with Kris, dating back to his days as head coach of the Erie Otters during McDavid's tenure.
