Edmonton Oilers Fire Jay Woodcroft, Name Kris Knoblauch Head Coach | November 12, 2023
On Sunday, after starting the year 2-9-1 the Edmonton Oilers fired head coach and named Kris Knoblauch as his replacement. Knoblauch and Oilers CEO of Hockey Operations, Jeff Jackson, as well as Connor McDavid, have a long history with Kris, dating back to his days as head coach of the Erie Otters during McDavid's tenure. The move raises questions about GM Ken Holland's future and could be a rallying point for the Oilers to turn their season around.
