In 1976, NASA was more than happy to release photos sent back by their pioneering Viking 1 space probe. Among those photos there was a mysterious image that would set the UFO community’s collective imagination to focus on our rocky red neighbor. Of the 40 missions sent to Mars, only 18 have been deemed successful. Although, the success rate seems impressive when weighed against the many challenges of landing and surviving on the martian planet surface. Dust storms that can last for months and cover huge areas of the planet, a barely-there atmosphere, and the planet lacks the protection granted by an intrinsic global magnetic field.  For those reasons alone scientists have been hesitant to consider Mars a suitable place for a human space settlement. Kepler-47 C, a gas giant planet approximately 5 times the mass of Earth over 3,000 lightyears away. It is at least one of a few planets astronomers have observed orbiting a binary star system but if posts from an anonymous source in 2005 on an email forum including some of the time’s leading UFO researchers is to be believed, there is at least one other planet circling two stars and a team of U.S. military scientists were deployed to spend 10 years studying the planet and gather information about the inhabitants. Throughout the 19th century, a widespread fear of being buried prematurely took hold of many European and North American communities. Rumors and stories of people who seemingly passed away due to an illness, waking up to try to claw their way out of their wooden coffins or stone mausoleums. The obsession with this fear going so far as to spawn patents and prototypes of coffins that could be connected to a small bell or some other device above ground to allow the recently deceased to signal a graveyard caretaker to come to their aid. But in a number of towns within the Northeast United States, people were not as worried about burying their dead as worried about their dead were staying buried. For almost 100 years a panic gripped the towns and cities of New England where it was believed that recently deceased were returning from beyond the grave to feed on the living essences of their living family. This fear led to numerous recorded incidents of macabre exhumations, occult practices, and in some cases, even ritual cannibalism. During World War II one of the most feared weapons of the Axis forces was the supremely effective German U-Boat forces. Responsible for a majority of the sinking of supply ships and materiel convoys, the submarine forces proved formidable even with their codes broken by the capture of the Enigma machine. The Catholic Church claims that extraordinary demonic activity can take six different forms which may warrant exorcism. Possession, where single or even multiple demons may take control of a person’s body without their knowledge or consent.
