Professor Emeritus David Hendrickson discusses the Ukraine crisis, the unleashing of Weapons of Financial Destruction (WFDs) by Washington, and the coming economic war. He likens what is coming to the spread of coronavirus around the world. The West wants not only to strangle Russia, but also not allow other states (e.g. China, Iran) to avoid future such sanctions on them. The U.S.-China relationship is where it will get hot and heavy, Beijing has extraordinary market power, and has become Moscow's 'permanent ally'. He does agree that American Empire is declining, but posits that the power it has to 'take a lickin' and keep on tickin'' is great. He doesn't think the Ukraine conflict will escalate and sees parallels to the invasion of Iraq. Hendrickson is the author of eight books, including Republic in Peril: American Empire and the Liberal Tradition (Oxford, 2018), Union, Nation, or Empire: The American Debate over International Relations, 1789-1941 (University Press of Kansas, 2009) and Peace Pact: The Lost World of the American Founding (University Press of Kansas, 2003). Courses taught at Colorado College include Introduction to International Politics, The Conduct of American Foreign Policy, Origins of the Modern State System, The American Founding, The American Century, and Smiling Through the Apocalypse. Hendrickson attended Colorado College from 1971 to 1976. Although a History major, he took many courses in the Political Science department, to which he returned as a teacher in 1983. He received tenure at Colorado College in 1990, became a full professor in 1996, and was Robert J. Fox Distinguished Service Professor from 2004 to 2009. He directed the journalism minor at Colorado College from 2003 to 2017. In 2018, Hendrickson received the Gresham Riley Award from the CC Alumni Association for outstanding service, commitment, and accomplishment. Johnny Vedmore discusses the CIA roots of the World Economic Forum which began at a Harvard "International Seminar". It's focus was to bring Europe and America into supranational union and was originally called the European Management Forum. He believes nuclear war planners like Herman Kahn concluded it would never come to Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) and instead, the threat of thermonuclear war was used to scare populations into advancing elite agendas. Former Mexican police officer and security specialist Ed Calderon discusses the drug war in México and how it's strategic location lends itself to continual interventions by the United States (e.g. Mexican presidents as CIA assets). Geopolitics & Empire: Your work is amazing and I'm amazed that you haven't done more interviews. Earlier in your work, you uncovered a covert international weapons shipment network which worked through diplomatic flights to arm terrorists in the Middle East and Africa, and you say this was organized by US Southern Command, I think. SOCOM? Saudi Arabia and the UAE among other actors, I'm sure. Many of us have long known how the West has funded extremists, Al-Qaeda and ISIS.

Dmitry Orlov discusses the Ukraine situation and Russia undoing 30 years worth of accumulated damage, while the West punishes itself attempting to thwart Moscow. He discusses the legality of Russia's military incursion which is absolutely necessary in terms of its security. Putin's goals are to militarily neutralize Ukraine, get rid of the Nazi extremists, and form a new legal structure. Regarding energy, the U.S. can't go without Russia for more than a few months, Russia can go without the U.S. practically forever. Western hysteria threatens escalation of the conflict. Orlov believes collapse will be the result of huge military budgets, government deficits, an unresponsive political system and declining oil production. Orlov was born in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg) and moved to the United States at the age of 12. He has a BS in Computer Engineering and an MA in Applied Linguistics. He was an eyewitness to the collapse of the Soviet Union over several extended visits to his Russian homeland between the late 1980s and mid-1990s. In 2005 and 2006 Orlov wrote a number of articles comparing the collapse-preparedness of the U.S. and the Soviet Union published on small Peak Oil related sites. Orlov’s article “Closing the ‘Collapse Gap’: the USSR was better prepared for collapse than the US” was very popular at EnergyBulletin.Net. Orlov’s book Reinventing Collapse:The Soviet Example and American Prospects, published in 2008, further details his views. Discussing the book in 2009, in a piece in The New Yorker, Ben McGrath wrote that Orlov describes “superpower collapse soup” common to both the U.S. and the Soviet Union: “a severe shortfall in the production of crude oil, a worsening foreign-trade deficit, an oversized military budget, and crippling foreign debt.” Orlov told interviewer McGrath that in recent months financial professionals had begun to make up more of his audience, joining “back-to-the-land types,” “peak oilers,” and those sometimes derisively called “doomers”. In his review of the book, commentator Thom Hartmann writes that Orlov holds that the Soviet Union hit a “soft crash” because of centralized planning in: housing, agriculture, and transportation left an infrastructure private citizens could co-opt so that no one had to pay rent...
