Why am I still limping?

I walk about 20-25 miles a week. I love being out early in the morning and seeing our neighborhood come to life. But lately I’ve been having big problems with blistered toes and sore calves. Some days I could hardly make it home. But today - those problems are gone. I can walk indefinitely - like Forrest Gump I'm tempted to just keep going. Let me tell you what changed and what the principle is that can very possibly remove some pain points from your life as well.Episode #908 - July 07, 2023Questions:  Do you have an area in your life where there’s ongoing pain? Something that you dread every day?  Are you tolerating mediocrity in your life in some area - where there is probably a readily available solution?  Have you asked for help?  Are you willing to try something new? To break what may be a habit at this point, with the potential of eliminating that pain? Summary Points:What is it that’s giving you blisters?Where are you tolerating mediocrity in your life when a solution may be readily available?Have you asked for solutions - your friends, your coworkers, your spouse, and God? Ask and ye shall receive……….Are you willing to try something new? To break what may be a habit at this point, with the potential of eliminating that pain?Take the action required to get new results. Get direct links to the resources mentioned on this podcast in the show notes at https://www.48days.com/ask-for-help/

WOS: Two versions of your story

We can all tell our life story as a healthy version or a victim version. An unhealthy story can perpetuate that same ongoing reality. Creating a healthy story can change the way you see your life and the way others see and respond to you.Find more about Dan Miller and Wisdom of the Sages at https://www.48days.com/wisdom-of-the-sages-podcast/

Are You Losing or Learning How to Win?

Two weeks ago I talked about this concept - how Ted Turner said when his Atlanta Braves weren’t winning he wasn’t losing - he was learning how to win. So many of you responded with your own stories of how you feel like you’re failing right now. Let’s take another look at what it means to “fail”.And grab your notebook - I want to walk through the 5 essentials required to come back from failureEpisode #906 - June 30, 2023Questions: 1. Dan, I would like to hear more of your thoughts on failure. 2. I've reached a point of giving up and it is painful but eventually you must accept that losers are a fact of life. 3. How can I stop wanting what I want? 4. Dan, this will be the last time I'll ever ask you for funding help, this I promise. I promise.….but please... please helpGet direct links to the resources mentioned on this podcast, including a free download of Acres of Diamonds, in the podcast show notes at 48days.com/acres.   Submit your Questions to: https://www.48days.com/askdan/If I use your question we’ll send you an autographed copy of 48 Days to the Work You Love

WOS: And the Donkey died because…

Not making a decision is still a choice - so make it interesting! To make a decision, follow these three steps: 1) Clearly state the issue. 2) Get advice from others. 3) List options and do research to narrow them down. Don't be like the donkey in Buridan’s paradox - choose the best option, even if they seem equally attractive. Indecision in one area will affect effectiveness in other areas, so don't be double-minded. Remember the principle from James 1:8, and let's make intentional decisions to lead us to success!Find more about Dan Miller and Wisdom of the Sages at https://www.48days.com/wisdom-of-the-sages-podcast/

Ya gotta taste your dream…

You’ve got to taste your dream. When I was a kid dreaming of owning a fine car I hung out with friends who already had theirs. When I dreamed of making more money I spent time with families who were making 10x what my family was. When I was dreaming of increasing my influence I found ways to be around people like Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy and Mark Victor Hansen. Episode #904 | June 23, 2023Questions: 1. I’m in a job I hate but it’s stable. Should I really attempt to change? 2. How do you rest in the Lord and not work in your own strength to accomplish things? 3. I am a single mother of three. I have always worked and enjoyed my work but recently I have been convicted of a felony. 4. Two weeks after your response I quit that job and began bookkeeping for small businesses. 5. I did leave my 1-hour 15-minute commute and found a job closer to home.Get direct links to the resources mentioned on this podcast in the podcast show notes at https://www.48days.com/taste-your-dream/

WOS: Do you want to be better?

Sometimes there’s a comfortable misery in predictable, repeating failure.Episode #903 June 19, 2023 WOTSThere’s a story in the Bible where Jesus asks a man who had been sick for a long time if he wants to get well. The story teaches us to stop adopting a victim mentality and ask ourselves if we actually want to be better. People often hinder their own success because they're more comfortable with what they already know. Join us as we delve into this topic and discuss how we can make positive changes in our lives.Find more about Dan Miller and Wisdom of the Sages at https://www.48days.com/wisdom-of-the-sages-podcast/

It’s been 48 Days and I’m not successful…

Yes I firmly believe in the 48 Days model - 48 Days to the Work and Life you Love - that’s enough time to assess where you are, get the advice of other people you trust, identify your best options, research to narrow down to 2 or 3, choose the best one an ACT. That means you now know what to do to be making clear deposits of success toward your dream. Yes, it may take a little longer for that to come into full view. Episode #902 June 16, 2023Questions: 1. Does it really only take 48 Days to be successful? 2. What is the meaning of the Stockdale Paradox? 3. What were Ted Turner and Nelson Mandela really doing when it looked like they were failing? 4. Why your own Hero’s Journey is giving you the opportunity you need.Get direct links to the resources mentioned on this podcast, including our upcoming Will It Fly event in the podcast show notes at https://www.48days.com/timeline-for-success/

WOS: Just Gimme Me a Little More Time

In the movie Collateral, a taxi driver tells Tom Cruise's character that he's been driving a taxi for twelve years but is planning to open his own limo service. The conversation between the two characters highlights the idea that success takes time and dedication, and having clear deadlines helps avoid procrastination. There are many examples like this where people stay in less than fulfilling “temporary” jobs for years because “life just happens.”Let’s unpack a 5-step process to move forward with specific deadlines so you don’t get caught in procrastination.Find more about Dan Miller and Wisdom of the Sages at https://www.48days.com/wisdom-of-the-sages-podcast/
