Your success is guaranteed – if you do this

Your success is guaranteed – if you do this “Here is a rule that will guarantee your success – and possibly make you rich: Invest 3 percent of your income back into yourself.” That’s great advice from Brian Tracy. I’m going to show you the formula that can double or triple your income. Stocks, bonds and mutual funds are for conservative people who just want to protect the money they already have.  I will describe the only investing strategy I recommend if you want to exponentially increase your income — investing in yourself. It will work for you whether you are employed or in your own business.  It will work whether you make $10/hr or $1 million/yr.   Can I use this principle if I’m only making $12/hr? What two books should I start with for my personal success library? I can’t even pay my bills – how can I do this? When can I stop investing in my own growth? “Poor People Have Big TVs. Rich People Have Big Libraries.” Jim Rohn — Tweet This Show Notes: Summary: In this episode, Dan Miller sets this week off with a solution to the question, “How can I achieve success now?” His response—investing in your own self-development. Are my skills appreciated by anyone?

Are my skills and specialized job training appreciated by anyone? Many of you have job training in specific areas.  That can give you an advantage or make you feel trapped.  The key is to draw a line in the sand and take a fresh look at what unique skills you have, what kind of environments you most enjoy, and what are your recurring dreams.  It may confirm what you’re doing now, or it may alert you that a change is needed.  There are too many options to feel trapped.   If I work overtime I’m neglecting my family, if don’t work overtime I’m neglecting my employer and our only source of income. I finished graduate school with a 3.9 GPA; isn’t that worth something? I have two career ideas that don’t quite mesh, and would like to know which one might prove to be more successful. Can I approach a company with a “thank you for not hiring me” note as a lead in? How can I learn what I need to do to start a lawn mowing business? “Far better to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat.” – Teddy Roosevelt —  Tweet This  Summary: In this episode, Dan talks about how there is always a solution, even with those who feel trapped by their work and life circumstances. Dan addresses listeners’ questions as they share the various ways in which they feel they are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Our attitudes and mindsets are often our greatest barriers and Dan explains the things we say to ourselves that can either empower or disempower us. Tune in to find out how we always have a choice and opportunity to leverage the skills we have and also, the importance of showing appreciation to anyone who provides us a service. “I almost got the job” – why little things make a difference

“I almost got the job” – why little things make a difference My son-in-law beat out every other applicant for a desirable position.  When he asked why he was given the opportunity, rather than the many who had better credentials and work history, the hiring manager said he was the only one who stood up when she walked in the job interview room.  How interesting – the little things that make us stand out – good or bad.  Listen to my interview with Andy Andrews on his new book – The Little Things. Should I care that my son wears his hat backwards? I have considered writing a book and a blog about our caregiving experiences, but finding work has taken a higher priority. Isn’t Luck a big part of being successful? How would you like to be a “People Walker?” “Not all of us can do great things.  But we can all do small things with great love.” — Mother Teresa – Tweet This Summary: In this episode, Dan Miller interviews Andy Andrews, one of his friends, and author of the new book, The Little Things: Why You Should Sweat the Small Stuff. I’ve got a PhD but no JoB

I’ve got a PhD but no JoB  I’ve got B.S., and MBA, a PhD, a DDS – and no job. I have a couple of clients and a class, and I LOVE it, but I hate marketing. My twin sister and I have PhDs in Linguistics but after 70+ applications, no Jobs I have no formal education beyond a few classes related to my previous career – what do I put on a resume? “Cherish your visions and your dreams as they are the children of your soul; the blueprints of your ultimate achievements.” — Napoleon Hill, motivational author  – Tweet This Summary: In this episode, Dan Miller discusses the difficulty in finding work from two ends of a spectrum; being overeducated to not having any formal education at all. Why I’ve had a lifelong love affair with money

Why I’ve had a lifelong love affair with money. That may sound like a selfish admission, but I changed my thinking about money years ago.  My Dad was a pastor and I heard plenty about “the love of money.”  And while I respect his deep devotion, I think he misunderstood the message.  In today’s podcast I want to address these questions: How can I increase my sense of “deserving” success? What is your mindset about money? How can I address my “upper limit challenge?” How can I learn to serve from a full cup? “Money and success don’t change people; they merely amplify what is already there.” Will Smith [Tweet This]   Summary: In this episode, Dan Miller challenges our mindset regarding money. We are taught to love it or hate it; but, is there a healthier view that we can maintain? Our mindset are often the result of the instilled values of our upbringing and this can work to our demise. Listen as Dan shares from his personal experiences, observations, and thoughts regarding church teachings about money and how family can at times, hold us back from achieving our greatest success. Grow your business with only 15 hours a week

Can I really grow a business with only 15 hours a week?  It seems every week I’m asked about that question – and the answer is a resounding Yes!  But you have to devote time to each of four critical areas.  Otherwise you may just learn more but never really develop a “business.”  Or you may create a “job” for yourself without ever getting closer to having a business.  In this episode I explain the four areas that need attention and give you a formula for how many hours to spend in each area with those 15 hours. I have a 7&8 year-old that also need resets from time to time and I’ve been struggling to find positive audio that’s understandable for them at this age. In working with my wife I have learned that she is the dreamer and I am the “realist.” I made out a list of 30-40 business ideas, what’s the process for narrowing those down and ultimately landing on one to pursue? Can I really grow a business with only 15 hours a week? “Listen to your wife’s dreams – because if you don’t, someone else will.”  Rob Lowe – host of the Giving Back Podcast [Tweet This]   Show Notes: Episode – 02-03-17 Title: N/A Subtitle: N/A Summary: In this episode, Dan Miller explains how you can Grow Your Business with only 15 hours a week as he shares the top 4 things you have to do to make that happen. What happens to 48 Days after Dan is gone? I just don’t know how to dive right in and make money as a Realtor. I’d like additional clarification about your thoughts on blogging, podcasting, newsletters, etc, being marketing avenues rather than the core business.
