What happens when the dog catches the car?

What happens when the dog catches the car? Most of us spend our entire lives chasing the dream of having enough.  What happens when that goal is met?  Do we stop, or is there reason to keep working anyway?  One listener is facing that challenge and Dan talks about life purpose in this episode.   Do you think some sort of good news could be a meaningful, purposeful, and profitable business? I’m a 45 y/o woman & have no idea what my purpose or passion is. My wife refuses to think about long-range plans. How much should I charge my friends for my services? I have a paid off house, plenty in retirement, savings to travel the world for years with our kids, and cash to spare – and have lost my passion to do anything. And I’ve got good news –  As a rule, adversity reveals genius and prosperity hides it.”  —  Horace  Tweet This Cliff Feightner‘s Poem This Week You need to be having a dreamTo outline your life’s schemeIt’s your decisionIn having a visionThat helps you rise to the top like the cream Episode – 07-14-17 Title: N/A Subtitle: N/A Summary: What happens when you’ve made enough? Guess what – I just bought the farm!

Guess what – I just bought the farm! History tells us that when a military jet crashes on a farm the farmer typically gets the government to pay off the mortgage on that farm.  And thus the saying, “He bought the farm” refers to someone dying.  But then there’s the positive side of just deciding to have a small farm.  I’ve got an opportunity where you might just be able to do that – for $300. Do you think the benefits of homeschooling outweigh the costs?  And How can we nurture the entrepreneurial spirit of our children? How do you feel about creating a mastermind group within one industry working in the same area? Should I look at established business opportunities or start something totally new? And I’ve got good news – See how this kid helped his 75 yr-old Mom complete her bucket list And a whole lot more questions if we get to them. “I have no special talents.  I am only passionately curious.”  Albert Einstein – Tweet This Cliff Feightner‘s Poem This Week When you feel at the end of your ropeIn the workplace, how do you copeAre you prepared to adaptOr just feel that you’re trappedIn a job without any hope  Show Notes: Episode – 07-07-17 Title: N/A Subtitle: N/A Summary: This holiday week, Dan shares wonderful success stories from members of 48 Days as well as an opportunity where YOU can win a 13 acre farm! Oh no – this happened. How do I move forward?

Oh no – this happened.  How do I move forward? My wife, Joanne, and I have used a concise process for all the years of our marriage. When confronted with a decision, we allow a 2-week maximum for arriving at a decision. Whether it is where to move, what kind of car to purchase, making a career or business decision, or how to handle a difficult relationship with a relative, we approach the process as follows: 1. State the problem. 2. Get the advice and opinions of others. 3. List the alternatives. 4. Choose the best alternative. 5. Act. And we avoid the crippling power of indecision. Yes, this process must be bathed in prayer. But a daily walk of integrity and character should provide confidence in moving ahead quickly with most any decision. You, too, can deal effectively with the challenge of making solid decisions. Don’t be indecisive and unstable in all your ways. Rather, walk in the strength, confidence, and boldness that come from decisive action. What does this make possible?

What does this make possible? When unexpected change comes our first reaction is often one of fear or anger.  We want to hang on to things as they were.  But a healthier response may be to ask (in the wise words of Gail Hyatt) “What does this make possible?”  In this episode we hear from listeners who have been confronted with unwelcome change, and I share about our cease and desist order regarding having live events at the Sanctuary.  The questions this week: The dealership I’m at has just changed their pay plan, and ALL of the salespeople are bummed out about it. I guess this was the motivation I needed to look for other work or another dealership. How do you differentiate between naysayers/whiners versus realists and intuitionists? Are we too scattered? Do we have too many things going on to do any of them well? I know I have a lot of good idea,s but I’m having trouble keeping myself motivated. I want to use my associate degree in accounting but fear that I will not make as much as I’m making now working in a steel shop. And I’ve got good news – “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.” ― Dr. Seuss — Tweet This  Cliff Feightner‘s Poem Does the place of your working careerJust serve to keep money nearDo you think you’re a slobJust working a jobAnd to lose it is your biggest fear Show Notes:Episode – 06-23-17 Title: N/A Subtitle: N/A Summary: In this episode, Dan reminds us to be open to change. Sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will break our hearts…

Sticks and stones may break our bones, but words will break our hearts… 5 months after I interviewed a company has contacted me.  Should I even consider them now?
