We talked about how paranoia is a common trait among cybersecurity folks, and he shared how cybersecurity, in general, is a practical and obvious application of the things he enjoys doing. Mike shared some hard and soft skills that have helped him so far in his career, the things that motivate him to do great work, what his typical workday looks like, the things he likes to do outside of work, and some advice for anyone who is interested in cybersecurity and red teaming. To wrap up, Mike shared some of the books he likes to read, his favorite quote by Theodore Roosevelt, and we ripped on how Game of Thrones ended, which he happens to be currently re-watching.
