Episode 624 - It's a culture thing
In this episode I'm joined by James Benge to talk about Arsenal's 1-0 win over Chelsea in midweek, another stand-out performance from Emile Smith Rowe whose stature continues to grow, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's reaction to being taken off, and how it raised the prospect of overtaking Sp*rs (good) and the Europa Conference League (probably not so good). We also talk about Mikel Arteta's interview on Sky and examine why he took such umbrage over certain reports in the media, what lies ahead in terms of a summer rebuild and reset, the reported desire of five senior players to leave, what the transfer market might be like, and lots more.Follow James @jamesbengeIf you want to become an Arseblog Member on Patreon, you can sign up at patreon.com/arseblog for just €5 per month. Episode 623 - The end is here
In this episode I'm joined by Tim Stillman and Tayo Popoola to talk about our elimination from the Europa League after the 0-0 draw with Villarreal last night. We chat about the game, the couple of chances we had in an overall poor performance, the lack of urgency in such a big game, Mikel Arteta's subs (again), and how, over the two legs, we didn't do nearly enough to win and go through to the final. Then the discussion is broadened out to the manager and what happens next with him, his football issues are one thing but also how much the club have put on his shoulders, the dearth of expertise at executive level, where we are being a consequence of KSE's hands-off ownership and lots more.Follow Tim @stillberto : Follow Tayo @djtayoIf you want to become an Arseblog Member on Patreon, you can sign up at patreon.com/arseblog for just €5 per month. Arsecast Extra Episode 413 - 30.04.2021
In this episode we dissect the 2-1 defeat to Villarreal in the Europa League semi-final. We chat about the deployment of Emile Smith Rowe as a 'False 9', conceding the goals we did, a disaster-class in midfield from Dani Ceballos and the manager's role in his sending off, Bukayo Saka winning a penalty and the ice-cold way Nicolas Pepe put it away to salvage something from a really poor night against Unai Emery's team. There's also a little gratitude for the former head coach, plus plenty of questions about Mikel Arteta, his use of subs, his over-complication at times, expectations of him, plus a bit about the takeover bid from Daniel Ek and lots more.Visit Arsebiz to support fellow Gooners.Get extra bonus content and help support Arseblog by becoming an Arseblog Member on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/arseblog Hosted on Acast.
