Reflective Awareness: Embracing Our Shadow Through What We Judge in Others - Dr John Demartini

This conversation starts with a truly eye-opening insight: our judgments of others often reveal traits in ourselves that we haven’t fully recognised and owned. Internationally renowned behaviour expert Dr John Demartini identified 4,628 different human behavioural traits, and recognised that we all possess both all of them - positive and negative. This is about what he calls reflective awareness – that we are simply being shown by others what we aren’t loving in ourselves, which keeps us from wholeness. We also talk aboutWhat emotional intelligence and authenticity really are.Why aligning our actions with our core values is key.Recognising the interconnectedness of all life. How acknowledging and embracing both sides of existence—like peace and conflict—helps us return to wholeness.Recognising hat success is deeply personal, defined by our own values, and that living in alignment with those values is what brings true fulfillment. How resisting what is creates all psychological suffering, and what to do instead'The desire to seek that which is unobtainable, and the desire to avoid that which is unavoidable, is the source of human suffering'. - The BuddhaMy links:YouTube: https://tinyurl.com/YouTubeSimonMundieWebsite: simonmundie.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/simonmundie/Substack Newsletter: https://simonmundie.substack.com/Work with me:"I have to say that in the days following our call I felt as though there had been a profound shift. The days that followed were some of the best days I have had in many years as there seemed to be so much more space between me any my thoughts." - Henry“Each session with Simon has been enjoyable and enlightening in equal measure. Are you familiar with worrying about the future or dwelling on the past? Then this conversation is for you. It's all about ways to free yourself from being caught up in the head - and stop your mind from using you, and get back to being able to use your mind, which is after all a wonderful tool (but a terrible master!). We all love it when the mind quietens - when in flow or looking at a beautiful sunset for example - but struggle when it fires back up, and make a mistake by then trying to control or suppress thoughts. We discuss simple techniques and powerful tools that aren't about futile control and explore deep game-changing insights and recognitions.YouTube: https://tinyurl.com/YouTubeSimonMundieWebsite: simonmundie.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/simonmundie/Substack Newsletter: https://simonmundie.substack.com/Working with me 1-1"I have to say that in the days following our call I felt as though there had been a profound shift. The days that followed were some of the best days I have had in many years as there seemed to be so much more space between me any my thoughts." - Henry“Each session with Simon has been enjoyable and enlightening in equal measure. No one likes experiencing uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, like anxiety. However, the more we fight our internal experience, the more likely it is to fight back. How to embrace perspective and be more positive - with the professional rugby player turned walking quadriplegic and now movie star Ed Jackson

Ed Jackson is a bloody inspiration. He was a professional rugby player before his career was cut short when he dived into a swimming pool and broke his neck. He nearly died and was told he would not walk again. But Ed worked his butt off and confounded the critics, going on to make a remarkable recovery - and has since developed something of a penchant for climbing mountains. And now, a movie has been made about his remarkable story, called The Mountain Within Me. It's currently in UK cinemas, and I can't recommend going to see it enough. This is a rerelease of the first conversation Ed and I had a few years ago, and I am chuffed that his epic story continues to develop in such impactful ways.Movie Trailer: https://releasing.dogwoof.com/the-mountain-within-meYouTube: https://tinyurl.com/YouTubeSimonMundieWebsite: simonmundie.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/simonmundie/Substack Newsletter: https://simonmundie.substack.com/**My book Champion Thinking: How To Find Success By Losing Yourself challenges our ideas about 'success', and where peace, joy and LASTING fulfilment are actually to be found.'This book captures the magic of being in flow . . . Top Neuroscientist: Being sedentary is killing you - here's why you need to embrace consistent low grade exercise like walking THROUGHOUT the day

Being sedentary is a killer. Our ancestors walked 15 plus miles a day most days of the week. Not for its health benefits, but because it was weaved into their day naturally. The problem now is that our lives are designed to be sedentary - think cars, desks and sofas - and so we have to be very conscious about fitting in regular lower level exercise like walking THROUGHOUT the day. Just going to the gym after work won't cut it - in fact it may be counterproductive. Here's what we talk about in this episodeThe five key personality traits negatively impacted by being sedentary The sedentary component for depressionWhich TYPES of anxiety are ameliorated by reducing a sedentary lifestyleMobility and its effect on inflammationThe relationship between movement and cortisolThe negative impact of being sedentary and then working out in the gym in a one-hour burstYouTube: https://tinyurl.com/YouTubeSimonMundieWebsite: simonmundie.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/simonmundie/Substack Newsletter: https://simonmundie.substack.com/**My book Champion Thinking: How To Find Success By Losing Yourself challenges our ideas about 'success', and where peace, joy and LASTING fulfilment are actually to be found.'This book captures the magic of being in flow . . .
