Using Psychedelics To Dismantle Racism | Akua Ofosuhene ~ ATTMind 139
Akua Ofosuhene is on the show to discuss the role psychedelics can play in dismantling racism in society by helping us learn to let go of the conditioned beliefs we are taught to hold about race in general. We also talk about how the dismantling of racism is actively harmed by the politics of outrage being carried into our personal relationships, and how getting beyond racism as a society can only truly come about in a cultural context based on the sacredness of the individual. A Somatic Relational Approach to Psychedelic Therapy | Tooth Fairy & Curlz ~ ATTMind 136
We feature two anonymous guests on today’s episode to talk about applying psychedelics to somatic relational therapy. One of whom is a practicing underground therapist. The other is not a therapist or doing therapy, but a social worker and researcher specializing in somatic healing, interpersonal neurobiology, and psychedelic therapy. This is a radically different approach to the psychedelic-assisted therapy you are likely aware of--headphones, eye shades, therapist there to hold a hand if needed. This is a therapy that is fully interactive and engaged. --LINKS-- For related links, Tooth Fairy's recently revealed identity, full show notes, and to watch this episode in video, head to https://bit.ly/ATTMind136 ***Full Topics Breakdown Below*** --- SUPPORT THIS PODCAST — ► Patreon: https://patreon.com/jameswjesso ► Donations: https://www.paypal.com/biz/fund?id=383635S3BKJVS ► Merchandise: https://www.jameswjesso.com/shop/ ► More options: https://www.jameswjesso.com/support/ ► Newsletter: https://www.jameswjesso.com/newsletter *** Extra BIG thanks to my patrons on Patreon for helping keep this podcast alive! Psilocybin And The Cultivation Of Compassion | James W. Jesso ~ ATTMind 135
PSILOCYBIN AND COMPASSION ARE BOTH LINKED TO OUR ABILITY TO FEEL EMOTIONAL PAIN AS IT ARISES By examining this correlation from a trauma-informed, psychotherapeutic framework, we find an understanding of emotional healing and healthy emotional processes, with or without psilocybin on board. This lecture will explore the essence of compassion and how a lack of it is related to early childhood trauma and emotional repression. Furthermore, it will explore the potential of psilocybin in the resolution of emotional trauma and the cultivation of healthier relationships, as well as the potential of suffering as a necessary skill for being an adult. Being A Psychedelic Person In The Modern Political Landscape | Bett Williams ~ ATTMind 132
Bett Williams and I explore a number of issues facing the modern politically switched on psychedelic person. We do so with special reference to the damaging impact of social media technologies on our perceptions, identity, and behavior; cultural appropriation within psychedelic ceremony building; and the Dark Side of leftist psychedelic politics. All of which grounded in a discussion around what it means to live psychedelically, as a psychedelic person in relationship with the psilocybin mushroom. For context, this interview was recorded a couple months ago and it’s actually just a coincidence (or accidental synchronicity) that it is being released during the week of the 2020 US presidential election. I'm definitely holding a particular curiosity as to how much the ideas discussed in this episode will be relevant or illuminating to the events that are going to follow in the next coming weeks. But that is a topic for larger wanderings beyond the podcast. I will leave it to the r/ATTMindPodcast subreddit.
