31. Sheevaun Moran - Find Your Flow
“Microscopic living... It’s about going into the smallest places and finding treasure that explodes and expands to everybody else.” When today’s guest lost the love of her life in a tragic accident, her whole life plan was stripped from the table. But part of the human condition is the ability to transform tragedy and heartache into something beautiful. It’s how her husband’s death became one of the pivotal points that enabled Sheevan to become - in my words - “the Queen of Flow”. I was so pumped to talk with Sheevaun, this conversation made me so happy! I learned some incredibly profound things too. But that’s what happens when you sit down to talk about life with a business advisor, master coach, and energetic thought leader. In fact, Sheevaun has helped over 25,000 entrepreneurs, CEO's and leaders tap into their soul’s unique formula - so they can show up in the way that’s right for them. And in this episode, she shares some incredible wisdom and insight that will inspire you to challenge your understanding of how the world works (so you can make life work for you too). “Nearly all our communication is energetic before we say a word.” My conversation with Sheevaun gets pretty deep as we dig into the tangible as well as the intangible. We talk about everything from inner reflection, to microscopic living, to the importance of cleaning up your ‘hot mess’! It’s an episode that left me feeling inspired and empowered. It’s true. There may be a lot of negativity floating around in the world right now, but that doesn’t mean we’re powerless to do anything. In fact, Sheevaun reveals some very practical steps we can take to feel better about our own lives and make our mark on the world. So tune in and discover some of life’s secrets and how flow can help you create success, fulfillment, and happiness in your life. “I love that the human condition can take a really negative thing and transform it into something really amazing and beautiful - if we allow it. It’s really the greatest hope we have.” Some questions I ask:How do you cultivate sensitiveness in yourself so you can see people’s gifts? (7:05)Tell us what it means to be in the flow - can you describe that feeling. (10:30)What does it mean that all our communication is energetic before we say a word. 30. Jon Berghoff - Intentional. Mindful. Successful.
“Maybe in life the real risk is not taking risks.” If you’re up for a deep, intellectual conversation that gets you thinking, then you’re in for a real treat with this episode. That’s because I’m speaking with the incredible Jon Berghoff. Raised in the birthplace of Apple, Jon is a father of three and the co-founder and president of the Flourishing Leadership Institute. Jon is one of the most curious people I’ve ever met. His super smart, analytical brain is dialled into the benefit of human systems. His mind is always on because he’s constantly looking to be better. I learned so much from this episode and I’m sure you will too. Passionate about unified mindfulness (which Jon talks about in detail during this episode), Jon is fascinated with unlocking human systems to empower others to be the best they can possibly be. It’s why topics such as concentration, presence, and curiosity feature strongly - because they are keys that can unlock life. “We end up choosing work that unknowingly we’re trying to heal something from our past - we’re trying to be whole.” As well as business and personal development, Jon also talks at length and his kids. Currently aged, 8, 6, and 4 Jon describes how parenthood can be polarizing and how his children teach him so much. If you’re a parent too, I think you’ll love the down-to-earth conversation we have about the challenges of juggling work and home. So brew yourself a coffee and get ready to be stimulated. Thanks to Jon’s wisdom and passion for what he does, I guarantee you’ll be left with some new ideas - even some entirely new thoughts - that will empower you to find more success, fulfillment, and happiness in your everyday. “The more present I can be, the more connected I can be to the highest possible potential that could emerge at any given situation.” Some questions I ask: What was it like for you when you grew up and how did your job roles shape you? 29. Mitch Russo - The Day God Called
“If we don’t keep that attitude of gratitude then we block the oncoming prosperity.” Today’s guest has worked with powerhouses such as Chet Holmes and Tony Robbins before setting up his own venture that empowers people through accountability. But life wasn’t always so successful. As a troubled teen, Mitch danced with death - at one point being just 15 seconds away from an early exit. Fortunately, a wake up call kicked him out of the downward spiral and put him on a path where success was the only option. Since that point, Mitch has committed his life to helping others while creating a beautiful, productive life for himself. And he spills all the beans in this incredible episode. “The wisdom only comes from the arrows in your back and the times you’ve tried and didn’t make it, not from the one time that you happened to get it right and hit a home run.” Fair warning! This episode is a rollercoaster. Mitch’s backstory reduced me to tears and tingles. I’m grateful for the powerful reminder that there’s always a way up from rock bottom, back into the realm of abundance and fulfillment. And that’s Mitch’s passion. 28. Jon Vroman - The Art of Moment Making
“Our whole lives are made up of moments… How we approach the here and now ultimately writes the stories of our lives.” Ever felt as though you’re missing out on life as it happens? It’s a common concern. When you’re juggling a ton of responsibilities (and a to-do list that never ends) your head and body aren’t in the same place! And when you’re chasing the future and rushing over the here and now, you end up missing out on a lot. It’s why I was so excited to chat with Jon in this episode. Jon is on a mission to show people how to live life in the front row - and his tool of choice is moment making. It’s a mindset I totally buy into. I used to focus on the grind. I used to constantly chase the next promotion or the next big goal because I believed that’s what would make me feel successful. But I soon discovered this mindset puts you in a game you’ll never win. That’s because life isn’t a journey. Instead, it’s a series of here and now moments. And my guest today reveals how to grasp that profound insight and use it to create the life you want. “Personal growth isn’t always about learning something new, it’s often about remembering something true.” Jon Vroman is an award-winning speaker who’s given more than 750 keynote presentations for many companies, organizations, universities, and associations. He’s also the #1 bestselling author of The Front Row Factor. Transform Your Life with The Art of Moment Making. Jon is a real authority on this important approach to living so I was grateful to find out more about his ‘rituals, routines, and rhythms’. We cover a lot of ground in this episode. From the lessons you can learn from people battling life-threatening illnesses to tangible strategies that put you in the front row, this conversation gets profound. So tune in now and learn how you can master the art of moment making in episode #29. “I have learned so much about living lifefrom people who are fighting for it.” Some questions I ask:How do you define ‘moment making’. (1:14)How has your awareness of the power of moments allowed you to create more moments that matter? (3:52)When joining up the dots, how do you process a backstory of extraordinary pain and shift your mindset to look for growth and meaning. (6:44)How has your dedication to moment making led to career success? (12:14)What first step would you recommend to someone who knows they’re not a ‘front row friend’? (16:55)What do you do on a daily basis to get centered and remind yourself what’s really important in life? (19:20)How does scheduling time for you FIRST allow you to do more? (24:09)Where did you learn about the pendulum analogy? (32:00)How has teaching your message about moment making made you a better recipient of that message? (35:33)How do you stay grounded on a daily basis? (38:51) In this episode, you will hear about: What it means to ‘live life in the front row’. (2:48)The question to ask yourself to become a ‘moment maker’ - for yourself and others. (3:25)The experience that sparked the creation of the Front Row Foundation.Your mess becomes your message: Why humans are ‘meaning makers’ and how this influences our lives. (8:15)Jon’s story - and the meaning he applied to his childhood. (9:07)What Jon learned from Nicky - a stage 4 breast cancer sufferer. (19:55)The proximity principle, the law of familiarity, and why Jon keeps a gym bag in his car. (22:15)Why Jon color codes his calendar and how this ensures his life doesn’t get eaten up. (24:56)The great equalizer and how this inspires Jon. (26:00)Why you should visualize the future and reflect on your past - and how this is different from ‘living’ in the future. 27. Michael O'Neal - 75 and Sunny
“When something feels like it’s holding you back, my default is to say YES to everything.” In this episode, I get to have a deep dive conversation with someone who knows a thing or two about podcasting! It’s Michael O’Neal, host of the Soulpreneur podcast which has racked up a staggering 681 shows. Mike is an outstanding podcaster and he shared a few insider secrets with me in this show - so if you’re a podcaster too, you’re going to love this one. But I didn’t ask Mike on to talk about his skills! While we do discuss the power of storytelling and interviewing, I wanted to dig into the inspirational story that’s taken him to where he is today. It started back in 2006 when Mike lost both his parents in less than 12 months. Despite achieving a level of success, medical bills soon hemorrhaged his life meaning he was effectively starting from scratch. And that’s when he went to Europe. “Success recognizes hustle.” Mike’s story is about creating your own luck - despite tragedy and troubles. It’s about being 75 and sunny in all areas of his life. And finding a way to build your life around the things you enjoy. Mike is proof that you always have a choice - and that the choices you make in any given circumstances determine the experiences you have. So if you feel as though life is against you right now, take a listen to Mike. You’ll discover how unexpected meetings, events, and situations when you’re down can transform your life in ways you couldn’t imagine. “For anyone that’s in a situation now where it feels terrible and that life is against them… there are numerous people that have had the exact same situation and ended up having the most amazing life.” Some questions I ask:What inspired your trip to Europe? (2:28)Was the message you received something you were actively looking for or did it come out of the blue? (11:49)How do you keep yourself going? (16:44)How long did it take for your strategy to deliver a break? (21:27)How did you train your brain to be able to think at the next level? (23:39)What is your daily routine like and what do you do to keep yourself motivated? (24:48)How do you design your life around your hobbies? How does this work? (28:57)What are the buckets of your life that you try to be ‘75 and sunny’ in? (31:59)In what way did your relationship with money change when you came back from Europe? 25. Karen Briscoe - 5 Minute Success
“I had this epiphany… The only thing stopping me from doing it was me.” Can you really achieve success in just 5 minutes? This episode’s guest believes so. If success is the result of habits practiced consistently, commit to the right actions for 5 minutes a day and you can see massive results. Karen Briscoe honed these skills in her hugely successful real estate business, but it was an epiphany moment that inspired her to consolidate her practices into a formula that other people could follow. After having the idea to write a book, Karen realized she needed to adopt new rituals to help her push through the doubt, fear, and questioning that can hold us back from doing the things we love. So she grabbed the opportunity one October day when the clocks went back to get up an hour earlier - and she did this every day to give herself the time to write. “I think people sometimes think it’s the big things that are what makes life meaningful, but many times it’s the daily rituals and relationships where true meaning comes from.” This episode is chock-full of practical ideas and strategies that will help you leverage habits to achieve the things you want. We also talk about the role of inspiration and why you must act fast - before the opportunity is passed to someone else. This conversation was so helpful and enriching. They say that success leaves clues and Karen leaves so many on this episode. So if you’ve been struggling to get things to work in your life, take a listen to Karen. Everyone can do something for five minutes a day that will propel them forward, right? And in this episode, you’ll get clarity on the steps you could take to achieve your own 5 minute success. “If you’re reaching for what your highest and best potential is that is an ongoing striving… I don’t think there’s an arriving. The striving is part of the thriving.” Some questions I ask:Tell us your story and how it led to 5 Minute Success (0.38).What is the one thing you recommend people do every day and why do you suggest that people attach this to their existing rituals. (6:30)When you were deciding to write your book, what were some of the things you did to get the rocket ship off the ground and push through the limiting beliefs? (10:25)You talked about how you used accountability to help you get started. What else did you do to keep you going in the early days - when you were questioning your plans and feeling the doubts? (15:12)You’d already been successful in real estate. Why did you feel that you needed a different mindset to be successful as an author? (18:50)When you have a stroke of genius, how do you use the fear in a constructive way so you can challenge the doubting thoughts and still move forward? (28:17)What are some things you do every day to practice the muscle of action despite fear? (31:27)Is happiness in your daily routines? (33:00)In the midst of everything, how do you stay grounded on a daily basis? (40:28) In this episode, you will hear about: The Better Than Before epiphany that inspired Karen to get up an hour earlier and the impact this decision had on her life. (2:39)How time was a factor that caused the 5 Minute Success to came about. (3:39)What is habit stacking and why it’s a useful strategy to adopt? 24. Rhonda Britten - The Path To Fearless Living
“Fear is at the crux of everything. If you do not know how to master fear, then fear is always going to trick you. That’s because fear is smarter than you and more educated than you.” This episode’s guest is an absolute rockstar who’s dedicated her life to teaching people how to master fear. It’s the incredible Rhonda Britten - master life coach, creator of the Fearless Living Institute, and an Emmy-Award winner. She’s also appeared on Oprah not once, but twice! After a horrific experience at the age of 14, Rhonda spent the next 20 years of her life battling with fear in all its guises. From self-doubt, blame, and addiction, Rhonda struggled to work out life - until she decided to challenge her beliefs about who she thought she was. This decision opened the door to hope and freedom. It led Rhonda down a path where she’s helped people from across the world break free of indecision - so they can take the risks that lead to an authentic life. And in this episode, she’s going to give you plenty to think about. “If you are driven by fear you’ll be successful, but never satisfied.” Rhonda believes the key to fearless freedom is to understand how your fear works. When it comes to fear, everyone’s experience is different. We all have our own fear response based on who we are and what’s happened in our lives. In this episode, Rhonda reveals some simple, yet powerful questions that will enable you to understand what fear is trying to do - and how you can use fear to help you accomplish the things you want. 23. Matt Aitchison - Finding Your Organic Self
“My routine is my awareness tool. My tracking tool to tell me when I’m on track, when I’m off track, when do I need to course correct, and when I need to double-down.” My guest today has flipped over 150 houses in the last six years. He’s Matt Aitchison, creator of 6FigureFlipper.com and an individual who has a unique and inspiring approach to happiness. Matt’s goal is to be a millionaire in ALL areas of his life. Passionate about showing up as his ‘organic self’ consistently in all 8 of his ‘life gardens’, Matt’s attention to detail and ‘small bet’ testing mentality is an inspiration. Thanks to his daily routines and methodical tracking, Matt has developed an intense level of self awareness, which helps him know when to course correct, double down, or change tact. It’s an approach that’s brought him wealth in business, health, relationships, and financially - and a methodology that he shares in this powerful episode. What you’re doing right now - in this exact moment - was once a stretch for you mentally and physically, but you figured out a way to normalize it. It’s just what you do now.” Matt wasn’t always this focused and dedicated to his path. In fact, it took a nosedive to rock bottom after a college arrest for a physical altercation. This was the wake-up call he needed to start designing the life his organic self craved. For the last 10 years, Matt has been dedicated to 2.0 himself. Fuelled by a belief that what seems scary can become his new reality, Matt leverages his all in, all out personality to live a full on life. So if you want hacks and strategies that will help step into your ‘organic self’, this episode is a must watch. I promise, it’s a doozy! “I’ve always believed that we grow into the conversations around us. If you want to be a millionaire, go hang out with nine other millionaires and most likely you’re going to adopt the mentality, the disciplines, the habits, the network, the research - all the information that will empower you to be on that path as well.” Some questions I ask:Tell me about your story and your transformation in your own words (0:56)When you realised in college that you had to make some serious changes, how did you make that party happen? What was the first sprint like after you decided to get started? (9:33)How does your daily routine keep the party going down the path you’ve chosen. (17:15)How did you come up with your core values and what are some of the non-negotiables on your routine list? (22:42)You say you want to be a whole-life millionaire. How does your mission, vision, and values help you find balance? (29:00)How does gratitude feature in your life? (36:55)Tell me more about Six-Figure Flipper. (39:55)In the midst of everything you’ve accomplished, how do you stay grounded on a daily basis? 22. Dana Malstaff - Pursue Your Passion. Include Your Kids.
“Doing your thing is massively important to raising good kids. We should be able to show our kids that doing what we love is financially viable. I don’t want work to be a negative word. I don’t want kids to grow up and think they have to get a job to make money to have enough money to do the thing they love.” This podcast episode is one of my favorite yet. I can’t tell you how much I LOVED interviewing ‘Dana Banana’ - a Boss Mom herself and founder of the incredible Boss Mom community that’s helped over 50,000 women in the last 2.5 years. Like me, Dana comes from a corporate background. But everything changed when she realized that it wasn’t her job she was in love with - but her thirst for accomplishment. This insight inspired her to quit her six-figure (plus) salary to become an entrepreneur - at the same time as having her first child! “Our lives are basically just a series of decisions that we make every day - some conscious and some unconscious.” Dana is proof that parenthood doesn’t need to change your personal ambitions for life, work, and yourself. Instead, as you’ll discover in this week’s podcast, life-changing situations can in fact inspire the life-changing decisions that push you in the direction you truly desire. In this episode, Dana gets up close and personal. Discussing everything from the drunken night that changed everything to the reason why shaving her legs is a daily non-negotiable. But beyond the banter is some incredible insights that could truly change your life. For example, how Dana supports herself to make the right decisions - so she can be effective as a business owner, a mom, and a human. So if you’re a mom who’s looking for support, ideas, and a like-minded community to help you take your business to the next level, then this episode is for you. And it’s equally for you if you want to see how one woman juggles multiple demanding roles and comes out on top. Enjoy :-) “There are so many correlations - raising a business is just like raising a child!” Some questions I ask:Tell us about your journey. How did the BossMom movement start and come to life. (3:22)How do you navigate the uncertainty and discomfort of making difficult decisions when you’re going through life-changing decisions? (10:20)What does your daily routine look like? How does it help you cultivate your practice of staying on track? (15:28)Do you have a process for offloading decisions to free up your plate? (19:09)How does self care factor into your life? (23:50)What are the non-negotiables you have to do every day to keep yourself moving, inspired, and excited to do more of what you’re doing. (29:39)How does gratitude show up in your life? (34:29)What kind of community can help people get into an active state of appreciation? (39:50)In the midst of everything that’s happening in your life, how do you stay grounded? (46:59) In this episode, you will hear about: How Dana discovered her thing - and why it wasn’t around the specialty she expected. (6:55)Why women make life changing decisions during life-changing situations. (9:52)The role of decision confidence and decision support when making choices - and the role they play in managing guilt. (10:59)Dana’s daily review of what’s important in her life through her Dream Makers and Deal Breakers - and how that helps her make the right decisions. (11:54)The tools Dana uses to help plan her day, make decisions, and keep stock of her goals. (13:09)How to feel good about what you are doing instead of feeling bad about what you’re NOT doing. (15:28)The weekly practice Dana does on a Sunday night to get accountability and prioritize her week. (17:05)Dana’s decision threshold and how it helps her interact with others effectively and delegate tasks. (18:13)Dana’s work wife! (19:53)What to do when survival mode is no longer sustainable and you need to reintegrate self care into your life - and why focusing on one thing at a time works best. (25:40)Why leg shaving and flossing are some of Dana’s non-negotiables. (30:00)Why Dana is passionate about giving compliments. (32:20)Why Dana see gratitude as an opportunity - and how this shows up in her life. (36:19)Why support is stability and how this can help you confidently climb without worrying about falling over.
