The Great Unlearn
Cal Callahan
We grew up in a world we didn’t create. And one idea after the next—whether it was culture or society—we were told how to look, how to feel, and who to be. We were told that if we checked off the “right” boxes (think: career, car, money), we’d feel good, we’d be whole, and—naturally—we’d be set. But, turns out, there’s more to the story. On The Great Unlearn, Cal dives into unlearning and questioning what the world taught us, and—in the process—how to be the truest version of yourself, minus the bullshit. Whether it’s figuring out how to navigate a relationship, dealing with your emotions, diving into spirituality, or just feeling comfortable in your own skin, Cal and friends navigate the choppy waters of what it really takes to unlearn all the ideas we took for granted, and how to be the best version of what, sometimes, can be so hard to be: yourself.

117. Connor Beaton | ManTalks, Healing Masculine Wounds, and Learning How to Express Anger
For men, many of us were raised with the rule “if we’re struggling, don’t talk about it”. This is what had Connor Beaton hitting rock bottom and eventually, opening his eyes and heart to the importance of having the support to express his emotions. He knew that if his life were to shift the first thing that needed to be looked at was himself.Connor and I dive into…How he shifted from addictions, troubled relationships, damaging self-talkHealthy ways to pivotally express anger and how this can benefit everyone involvedHow putting people on pedestals doesn’t allow for a genuine or sustainable connectionTransforming the “suppression equals strength” mentalityThe importance of modeling a healed masculine to our childrenConnect with ConnorWebsite: connorbeaton.comInstagram: instagram.com/mantalksMen’s Work: A Practical Guide to Face Your Darkness, End Self-Sabotage, and Find Freedom: mantalks.com/mens-work-bookManTalks podcast: mantalks.com/podcastTrainings for Men: mantalks.com/trainingConnect with CalShop TGU Gear: thegreatunlearn.com/shoptguInstagram: instagram.com/cal.callahanYouTube: youtube.com/c/thegreatunlearnFacebook: facebook.com/thegreatunlearnWebsite: thegreatunlearn.comSubscribe to the newsletter: thegreatunlearn.com/newsletterThis show is produced by Soulfire Productions
