On this episode Marcy and her daughter, Jessica talk all about hospitality. If you have ever been in Marcy or Jessica’s homes, you’ve experienced that sense of comfort, belonging and very good food! Marcy is a mom of 3, grandmother of 9 and hosting large groups is her area of expertise. Her daughter, Jessica, has learned a lot from her mom, and is carrying on the legacy of welcoming people into her home. In this episode you’ll hear some tips on making your home a place that people want to be at, but you’ll also get a clear view of what actually makes a person extend hospitality.

On this episode Leigh talks about the systems and processes she has in place to create order and organization in the home while also allowing her 4 kids to be kids. She shares how she keeps a handle on laundry, schedules, virtual school (!) and toys. As her family has grown she has been on a journey to figure out what areas she needs hold a little more loosely. She's learned how to let her kids be a part of contributing to the order in their home by using a chore chart and daily house responsibilities. It's a great listen... especially for any parents that are enneagram 1's!

Correll and Robby share their experience of parenting through the loss of their 16 daughter, Kaitlin. They share how they navigate life without her and the remarkable things that God has done through this pain.A few weeks before Kaitlin's death her life was changed at a Young Life camp. The following year Correl and Robbie attended that same exact camp to see all of the things she experienced. While at camp they experienced God like never before. Since then they have been a part of Young Life and find it a joy to show teenagers who Jesus is.Kaitlin was a JJ Pearce High School softball player, and Correl and Robbie continue to be involved in that program helping out with whatever is needed.While this is a story that includes a tragic death, this is more a story of how God has given life to so many through Correl and Robbie's faithful willingness to be used by God.

Kendall and Kathy have known each other for a long time, but their lives became a little more intertwined when Kendall had her first child. Since then Kathy has become a great source of support and encouragement for Kendall and her family. They talk about how openness and vulnerability has led to a meaningful friendship.  Also, Kendall is my sister, and our mom passed away before we had children. Our mom LOVED reading to us, and there is a really special part of the conversation where Kathy and Kendall talk about how and why reading has a sweet impact on our children’s lives. It’s my favorite part. On today's episode young adults Audrey, Austen, Aly Jo and Andrew talk about their parents. They talk about boundaries or rules their parents had when they were little that were frustrating or annoying at the time, but now they are thankful for them. Boundaries like TV shows they could watch, video games in the home, being outside and piano lessons. Their perspective on those things now is so helpful! They talk about ways their parents showed support in all areas of their life from cheering them on at soccer games, planning birthday parties, funding their dreams of having a duct tape wallet business... the list goes on! They talk about how their parents priority of hospitality has trickled down to now be something they really care about. They share how thankful they are their parents have been intentional about praying for them, surrounding them with people who care and showing them what it looks like to pursue Jesus. Vicki shares ways that she pursued Jesus when she her three children were little, and how her relationship with Jesus has grown over time. She was inspired by the movie War Room, when her oldest went to college she changed his closet into her prayer room. It helped her see the ways God was answering her prayers. Her mom prayed scripture for her, and she has done that with her kids.
