024 | Self-Awareness + Hospitality with Leah Weinberg
This episode is full of reflections and learning with our guest, Leah Weinberg, who joined us to talk about self-awareness and living in the moment. Have you ever stopped whatever it is you’re doing and just observed? Like really looking at your surroundings, feeling the wind blow into your face, savoring the feel of the keyboard on your fingertips. No? Well, you should! Don’t let every moment in your life pass by in a blur and leave you thinking, “Where has all that time gone?” In this episode, we’ll be talking about exactly how to make the most out of every moment in your life. We’re joined by our lovely guest from Color Pop Events, Leah Weinberg, as we navigate self-awareness and how to harness it to beat the burnout monster. In this episode, you’ll learn: A mantra to remind yourself to be in the present. Why self-awareness is the first step. How to ignore what other people are doing. You are uniquely you. Ways to be mindful of hospitality. How to surround yourself with other business owners. Why to put systems and processes in place from the beginning. To see more of Leah’s works and what she does, visit her website. Here’s a sneak peek of the episode: [1:59] That's not where self development happens. That's not where growth happens. You need to live in the present moment. I encourage you to take up a meditation practice to do that. [11:00] The goal is to realize that you're gonna have a long term relationship with burnout. And it's just about trying to stay in balance as long as possible and giving yourself grace. [15:28] I love that just self awareness and being like, “okay, I'm not a PMS thing. I'm burned out.” Like for me PMS and burnout have a very similar sense of you're tired and cranky. [18:44] My first tip is to have systems and processes in place from the beginning. And when you're first starting out, things like that aren't necessarily on your mind. And a time will come when you’re going to need it. [19:39] You don't have to have a formal operating manual but essentially, you should have enough documentation that you could hand somebody this packet of information and they would like you to franchise your business essentially, like think about your systems and processes. [22:59] So number two is to surround yourself with other business owners. The people, your community, who you surround yourself with is just so incredibly important. Connect with me!
