NEWMORROW SESSIONS - A PodCast Series on the Future of Hospitality
Mario C. Bauer, Florian Schneider, Axel Weber & Dr. Tillman Bardt
The Newmorrow PodCast is more than a podcast — it's a platform for open dialog on the future of our business, a platform for those building what doesn’t exist yet. Here, we share and embrace our passion for the hospitality industry, but we won’t romanticize the journey. We ask the tough questions, confront uncomfortable truths, and prepare for a future that resists easy answers. We believe that the tougher and wilder times become, the more openly, honestly and humanely people need to talk to each other and act together. We believe, openness, togetherness, and truthfulness should also be cornerstones of a professional community to develop our utopian idea of „open source“.
This is a space where visionaries don’t just imagine the future — they wrestle with the paradoxes that shape it: success vs. happiness, data vs. instinct, stability vs. reinvention. Join leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers as they share not what made them — but what’s actively shaping them, now and next.
So tune in, follow us and do not hesitate to interact with the group – we are human.

From Doubt to Drive - Entrepreneurs Only.
This week with Federico GROM, Co-Founder of GROM (https://www.gromgelato.com/it/it/home.html) and LEC (https://lec.it/) as well as Mura Mura (https://muramura.it/en/we)
Federico is THE poster-boy of Italian Ice Cream who co-founded GROM Gelato in 2003 and grew it to 98 shops in 15 countries before they sold it to Unilever. Recently he co-founded LEC together with the Formula One Driver Charles Leclerc https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Leclerc.
In this episode, Federico talks with us about his journey starting with no clue & no money from scratch believing that there is always room for doing it better, even in crowded markets like the ice cream industry.
Our main learnings from this conversation are:
You need lots of passion and energy.
Set a strong mission from Day 1, which is “impossible to reach”. In his case: Making the best Gelato in the world.
Flavor first.
Determination is key for every successful entrepreneur.
The answer is always the smile of a happy customer.
In difficult situations, work out to clear your mind to regain your drive.
If you have a problem, work harder.
Don’t work after dinner. Wake up earlier the next day.
The right co-founder is more than a brother.
Dream big.
Create a circle of trust to share your doubts. Listen. Interpret. Take decision.
If you don’t have enough data, decide with emotion.
Innovation doesn’t come from data, but from emotion.
An entrepreneur should know a little bit about everything.
Select the right people, who are better than you.
Entrepreneurship is not a democracy. You must take the decision.

In this episode, Riccardo Giraudi talks about how ironic it is to receive a Michelin Star if you cannot cook and how you convert a good restaurant into a great brand. Unlocking Success: Entrepreneurial Insights for Overcoming Roadblocks and Embracing Uncertainty.
In the ever-evolving world of entrepreneurship, one thing remains constant: the journey is filled with challenges and moments of doubt. Mario C. Bauer and Florian Schneider, our hosts and seasoned entrepreneurs themselves, have embarked on a mission to explore this very aspect of entrepreneurial life with our podcast, "From Doubt to Drive – Entrepreneurs Only."
This is not just a series of interviews but a deep dive into the psyche of entrepreneurs, uncovering how they transform their fears and uncertainties into the very fuel that drives their success.
We have distilled the collective wisdom of our guests into seven key takeaways, anchoring our podcast's central message "From Doubt to Drive." We have carefully listened and selected the unfiltered and authentic learnings, offering you invaluable perspectives on the strategies, shifts in mindset, and pivotal moments that propel doubt into drive.
The seven learnings are a roadmap for anyone looking to turn their entrepreneurial challenges into Drive. They are a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of entrepreneurs.
Be resilient, persistent, and focused.
Act fast. Lead strong.
Stick with your Values. Become your true self.
It’s all about the people.
Learn, Adopt & Innovate.
Take care of yourself
Believe in you. Stay positive. And Kill your Ego.
"From Doubt to Drive – Entrepreneurs Only" is more than a podcast; it's a movement. It invites our community to walk through the shadows of an entrepreneur’s path, where doubt often overshadows potential. The podcast addresses the concept of 'Schwellenangst,' a German term describing the fear of crossing thresholds and borders. This is a fitting metaphor for the entrepreneurial journey, where each step beyond the comfort zone is a victory over inner fears.
Tune into the next episodes, deep dive into some of your favorites and relisten, share our podcast and most importantly embrace the journey you are on and discover how you too can move from doubt to drive.

From Doubt to Drive - Entrepreneurs Only.
This week with Tom Barton, Co-Founder of Honest Burger (www.honestburgers.co.uk)
Tom Barton founded Honest Burger together with Philip Eeles right after finishing university. They aimed to make Britain’s best burgers and chips, and therefore they even started their own butchery. Today, the brand counts 40 stores, 900 staff and keeps growing. Tom is an entrepreneur by heart, and he shares his ups and downs with brutal openness and honesty.
In this episode, Tom tells us why a good restaurant is like a family, what he means by talking about the arrogance of youth, and how he overcame the most difficult time in his career.

Discipline is kindness to yourself
Don’t let lawyers do the talking, do it yourself
Confidence breeds confidence
Look after yourself and you will be better in anything
Find yourself a good partner, but don’t take your best friend
