For Jen, as a married mother of four, there are a lot of people who require her time, attention and love. Man or woman, some of us dream of being CEOs, some of us dream of being parents and some of us dream of something in between. We hear a lot about the paradigm shift women are experiencing, as more and more of us women begin earning more than our partners, but we don’t often stop to acknowledge that men are experiencing a paradigm shift of their own. Many men who place their role as father higher than their role as earner are met with emasculating judgment from the outside. They’re told that they should want to do something more, as if their desire to provide love and support for their children is not enough on its own.
