102: Embracing the Joy and Chaos of Motherhood with Vasavi Kumar

Welcome back, loves, to the Brave Table!   Today, I’m interviewed by Vasavi Kumar on her podcast, Say it Out Loud! This is a replay of that episode and in it, we dive deep. I share about my 2nd ‘dark night of the soul’ which came once I began motherhood in the forms of postpartum depression and rage. We break open the interesting duality of how rage can coexist with slivers of joy.   I break open how I felt frustrated and angry after giving birth due to the limitations on my physical movement. I had put a lot of my value in being able to contribute and give to others, so being unable to do so after giving birth caused a lot of rage to swell up. Join Vasavi and I as we navigate embracing the joy and chaos of motherhood!   In today’s episode, we talk about:   Postpartum Depression, Rage, and Anxiety How Giving Your Rage a Voice Can Help You Heal Impact of Grief and Loss on Resilience Impact of Stress and Anxiety on New Mothers Four Parts to Your Bounce Factor How to Use Joy to Deal with Sucky Moments Different Stages of Grief and How to Cope Benefits of Letting Out a Good, Hard Laugh How to Bounce Back from Life's Setbacks The Dangers of Emotional Perfectionism The Relationship Between Rage and Healing The Power of Allowing Yourself to Feel Your Rage The Power of Being Brave Enough to Suck at Something New If you liked this episode, you’ll also want to check this out… Vasavi’s work at https://www.vasavikumar.com/ and follow her on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/mynameisvasavi/  Listen to her podcast, Say It Out Loud with Vasavi https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/say-it-out-loud-with-vasavi/id1366384837    Listen to my episode with Vasavi where we talk about flowing into your feminine energy, and copying with shame, guilt and secrecy: Apple | Spotify Hear my husband, Ajit Nawalkha, speak on being a father: Apple | Spotify You’ll love this episode about braving uncertain situations and how to do the hard things: Apple | Spotify   Thanks for listening!
