ANOTHER BIG HUFF TO FINISH IT OFF, REFINER!!Welcome back to Salt's Neck for another week of fun and games with Harmony Cobel and her Aunt Sissy. Sissy lives in the shadow of Kier and the old Lumon Ether plant. Neither has made an appearance in this place for forty years or more, but Sissy still holds out hope. Harmony is searching for something. She's just sure Sissy didn't sell it to the poor as she claimed. Harmony is also dealing with some big-time mommy issues. She wasn't allowed to come home for her mother's funeral. She's had no closure and a lot of grieving for a LONG time now. She leaves her good buddy Hampton out in his cold truck while she tries to commune with the ghost of her long-dead ether-huffing mother.There is some healing...and some sleeping. An exhausted Harmony falls asleep in mom's bed. Hampton decides to retrieve her and enrage the Sissy-beast.How can I talk for two and a half hours about a 37 minute episode?? WE'RE BACK TO THE RE-WATCH THIS WEEK, REFINER!!Interviews are fun, and we love talking to the folks who make 'Severance' so incredible, but, we should never forget, this podcast was built on insanely detailed rewatches!! This week we are getting back into the S2 complete 'Severed' Re-watch with PART ONE of "Sweet Vitriol."We have not heard or seen anything from Harmony Cobel since her very scary parking lot run-in with Helena Eagan and her gorilla of a driver in the episode "Who is Alive?" Guess what??!! Harmony made the trip to Salt's Neck! In this episode, we catch up with her out on the road. She's headed back to where she grew up. She's needing some things she left at home back when she was whisked away to be a star at the Myrtle Eagan School for Girls. This time out we meet up with Hampton at the Drippy Pot. He's one of Cobel's oldest and dearest friends. He's also in the grip of a massive ether addiction, much like the rest of this tiny and dilapidated town. Oh, and if you're in need of ether, Hampton can set you up. As Sissy calls him, he's a 'huff peddler.'Oh, yeah...Sissy. We're going to meet Harmony's Aunt Celestine 'Sissy' Cobel. She's Harmony's mother Charlotte's sister. Sissy does NOT have a warm spot in her heart for Harmony, Hampton or this backwards little town on the seashore where she feels trapped by her beliefs. Based on the incredible success of this episode, she'll probably never be a cinematographer again. We're going back in time with a blushing Mark and Gemma. We'll see how they met and fell in love. In reality, it's the Gerald Luss house in Ossinging, NY. We will get WAY into it!!Over at "Zufu", a favorite joint in Kier for Chinese, outie-Mark Scout is trying to curb his reintegration appetitte. As he's feeding his face, Helena Eagan walks in. She has a seat at a booth...all alone. Helena may have had plans other than dinner when she followed Mark Scout into this place. She's quite the aggressive one!! Helena does her best to seduce a confused Mark Scout, but it doesn't work.The meeting at the restaurant prompts Mark to take some serious action regarding his chip.
