N17: Pat Dixon - Director of Applied Sports Science at Momentous

Pat Dixon is the Director of Applied Sport Science at Momentous - a company who engineers athlete focused supplements.   Dixon began his career in exercise science at the University of Connecticut while pursuing a Master’s Degree and also working in athletics as a strength and conditioning coach. Previous publications, online and in print, have focused on athlete development with a focus on improving power production and performance. He spent 18 years working with college athletes at UConn, Cal-Berkeley, St John’s University and Loyola Marymount University with a focus on improving performance and decreasing the incidence of injury. While working with athletes, Dixon’s efforts helped shape multiple NCAA tournament appearances and Sweet Sixteen finishes in Women’s Basketball, Soccer and Volleyball. While coaching, Dixon was a consultant and advisor to multiple biotechnology companies (Fitgenetix, Dyve Biosciences, Masimo Medical Technology). Efforts focused on developing products that better support physiological development and improve objective feedback leading to more efficient training protocols. N16: DJ Dolan - Pushing Your Performance Into The Next Frontier, A Mindset From a High Level Operator

DJ Dolan describes himself as an Athlete, Leader, & Teammate.   As an Athlete, DJ was a former collegiate football player (at Merrimack College), and professional boxer for All-American Heavyweight (in California).  As a Teammate and Leader, and shortly after his athletic career, he joined the US Army as both an enlisted and commissioned officer. Post Army, he joined the Massachusetts State Police working primarily on two teams. The first as a detective with the violent fugitive apprehension section attached to the US Marshals fugitive task force, as detective he was responsible for planning and carrying out hundreds of operations with the mission of locating and apprehend fugitives who are wanted for violent offense as well as safely locating victims of human trafficking and kidnapping. The second as a member of the statewide full-service Special Tactical Operations Team as a breacher.  Expanding on his Leadership experience gained from the MA State Police and US Army, Dolan now serves as a social impact entrepreneur who empowers leaders, high performers, and organizations to help elevate HUMANITY. DJ is involved with multiple companies and missions. He is the founder and lead coach at EMPWR Coaching & Consulting where he specialized in helping leaders, teams, and organizations to discover their full potential to create a lasting impact on the world. He believes that this can be accomplished as a byproduct of living and leading authenticity and creating relationship-based systems aimed to enhance & nurture engagement, meaning, performance, well-being, and resilience. Additionally, DJ is the founder of One Tribe, which is a non-profit mentorship service with the mission of building purposeful relationships between servant leaders and youth leaders from at-risk communities guided with a curriculum from positive psychology, health science, Neuroscience and leadership development. DJ serves as a leadership instructor with a company named The Program working collegiate, professional athletic teams and corporations across North America.  DJ is a lifelong learner working toward a doctorate in neuropsychology and human performance as well as competing at Brazilian Jui Juitsu.
