How to Love Your [Broken, Dark and Angry] Self with Katie Silcox

EPIC conversation alert!!! Today I get *in it* with one of my visionary friends, Katie Silcox, founder of Shakti School. Listen and learn: 🔹Why somatic work alone isn’t enough and can become a “feeling trap”  🔹How massive amounts of shakti energy are stored beneath your shame 🔹Exactly what releasing irritation looks like from a “yogic” perspective taking into account tantric and buddhist teachings. Buckle up, yogis. This conversation might take you places you never thought possible.    GUEST EXPERT: Katie Silcox | @theshaktischool Katie Silcox, M.A. is the New York Times Best-Selling author of the book Healthy, Happy, Sexy - Ayurveda Wisdom for Modern Women and the upcoming new book - Glow-Worthy. Dismantling the Kleshas - The Actual Aim of Yoga

I bet you thought the goal of yoga was to achieve samadhi or enlightenment, right? WRONG. More precisely, yoga is about dismantling the 5 kleshas (obstacles) which prevent us from realizing that samadhi (bliss) is our natural state. Deep dive with me into eleven critical epithets: Verses 2.1 to 2.11 of the Yoga Sutras, where I’ll give the often overlooked kleshas - the obstacles and afflictions that cause suffering - the attention they deserve. Discover: 🔹 Why the concept of avidya (ignorance) is often mistranslated and misunderstood  🔹 How the kleshas aren’t created equal, but actually function in a hierarchy  🔹 How to “grade” your kleshas using Patanjali’s framework    🔹 Why the kleshas likely won’t be eliminated (no matter how much you practice), but how you can leverage them to become more discerning in your day-to-day life.  If you enjoyed the episodes where I’ve read the Yoga Sutras aloud, you will love this nerdy episode.    🤓 History of Yoga Course on Sale❗   Instagram: @larkinyogatv    Train with Me: ✅ 200-hour Online Yoga Teacher Training 🔮 300-hour Online Yoga Teacher Training 🐍 Yoga for Self Mastery   📱Book a Free Yoga Teacher Training Clarity Call here!    RELEVANT BLOG: https://www.brettlarkin.com/raja-yoga/   🎧 Also Listen to: #271 What is Kriya Yoga?   #279 The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali Summary - BOOK ONE Explained  #282  The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali Summary - BOOK TWO Explained © 2023 Uplifted Yoga | BrettLarkin.com

The Pelvis: Your Seat of Power & Embodiment with Lara Heimann

Join me as we discuss embodiment from a neurodevelopmental perspective with incredible physical therapist Lara Heiman. Do you love sinking into a low lunge? Lingering in hip openers? Flowing through feel-good movements? (My hand is raised!) While all of this is okay, our most sophisticated practice develops when we prioritize stability over mobility. In particular, when we truly honor the pelvis as our seat of power.      Listen and learn: 🔹Practical functional movement tips to honor pelvic stability in your personal practice or public teaching 🔹Why you and your students’ hips may actually be “tight” due to overstretching  🔹The importance of touching your body to provide feedback so you can change “the inputs” in yoga postures and find “side doors” that reconnect you to your most embodied self.  Yes – we also touch on Kundalini Awakening. Don’t miss this spectacular anatomical conversation that touches on all the major trends in the wellness industry right now. Yoga geeks, get your pencils out!   GUEST EXPERT: Lara Heimann | @lara.heimann | www.lytmethod.com A practicing physical therapist and yoga teacher for 27 years, Lara received both her undergraduate and graduate education from Duke University and as a licensed physical therapist, continued her studies with a Post Grad specialization in Neurodevelopmental Training with Recovering Function Organization through Stanford University. Combining her educational background in physiological studies and her passion for movement, Lara completed her 200-hour teacher training. After several years of teaching, she began to notice a void in the inclusion of anatomy in the conversations of yoga training. In the years to follow, Lara began to refine the LYT Yoga Method, combining physiology, kinesiology, neurology, and functional movement patterns to yield a more cohesive movement philosophy.    🤓 MASTER THE BASICS FREEBIE: https://www.brettlarkin.com/masterthebasics    📱Book a Free Yoga Teacher Clarity Call here!   Study with Me: ✨ 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training ✨ 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training ✨ Kundalini 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training © 2023 Uplifted Yoga | BrettLarkin.com

What Is a Kundalini Awakening - 3 Big Takeaways

Kundalini yoga is a deeply spiritual practice. In fact, many say that the Kundalini process can lead to a spiritual awakening. And while spiritual enlightenment sounds like a really good thing, it can come with a whole lot of intense experiences (headaches, nausea, YUCK). The way that yoga talks about this spiritual experience is through the Kundalini process, where prana (life force energy) moves through the subtle body (aka your spinal column) until it reaches the Sahasrara Chakra at the top of your head… …to awaken Kundalini. Before you go chasing the Kundalini experience (like I did), take some time to get acquainted with the Kundalini awakening process. There are a few things you should know about awakened Kundalini, first. And then I’ll share my tips on how to use this ancient practice to achieve your own spiritual awakening too. So buckle up. We are about to embark on a spiritual journey. 🔥 Kundalini Awakening Reel on IG   Go deeper with me: ✨Kundalini Demystified ✨Kundalini 200-hour YTT ✨Yoga for Self Mastery   Free Yoga Practice:  20 Min Kundalini Yoga for Your Chakras | AWAKENING KUNDALINI & CHAKRA BALANCING   Blog:  Kundalini Awakening: What Is It and How To Awaken It How to Resolve Intense & Traumatic Kundalini Awakening   🎧 Also Listen to: #264 How is Kundalini Yoga Different than Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga? #265 What is the Kundalini Serpent?
