This is Part 2 to the video, "Does Truth Exist?" In this video, we discuss many different topics with regards to truth, such as family structures, transgender ideology, societal norms and lack of morals, King James Onlyism, and when KJV Onlyism can be a dangerous extra-Biblical doctrine for Christians. We discuss predestination and free will, and whether faith is a gift or something we can form on our own. We discuss the tough question: Are babies predestined to Heaven or Hell? Would a just God send aborted babies to Hell? In this video, I sit down with Global Vagrant (the YouTuber who reviews countries/attractions all over the world), to discuss the concept of truth. Does truth exist in an absolute sense? Or is truth relative? Can we determine truth for ourselves? If I identify as something, does that mean I am that thing? It is really important to understand that many secular life philosophies and perspectives are self-defeating. They may claim to be based on relativism, but they cannot be true if they are. For example, if someone says all truth is relative", then they are actually lying. Because if truth is relative, then that statement is relative, meaning it cannot be taken to be true, which would mean it is false. And if that statement is false, then all truth is absolute, which is what the Christian faith and other religious folk have been saying for centuries. Tune in for a very interesting discussion. In this episode, I discuss the Central Dogma of Molecular Biology, which is the observation that all living things have DNA, RNA and Protein, and that DNA codes for RNA, and RNA codes for Protein. This "DNA -> RNA -> Protein" system undergirds all living things on Earth. The question is this: Could this system come about by random chance in the prebiotic soup of the early Earth? Assuming there were plenty of DNA nucleotides floating around, could they come together to form a small, 300 nucleotide, meaningful piece of DNA? Also, if all the necessary amino acids were present, could they slam together and form a meaningful/functional protein in a reasonable amount of time? Let's explore some of the probability calculations provided by Dr. Stephen C. Meyer, a former geophysicist and philosopher of science, who has looked at this system extensively. This is Part 2 of 3 Bad KJV Only Arguments. In this second half of my podcast, I discuss three ungrounded arguments that are often presented by King James Onlyists (AKA the KJV Onlyism movement). The first argument is the supposed conflation of Jesus and the Devil in how modern translations render the word Latin word "lucifer" (and the Hebrew word "helel") at Isaiah 14:12; which makes Jesus and the Devil both described as a "morning star", which has led some who read these passages purposefully out of context to conclude that the modern translations are saying that Jesus fell from Heaven, an understanding that no one has organically gained from reading the text as the original author's wrote it. The second argument is how most modern translations have a different reading at 1 John 5:7, with a footnote stating what the majority of manuscripts and most reliable manuscripts say in that section. The third argument is how Acts 8:37 is either "missing" from modern translations, or put in brackets with a footnote stating the manuscript issues with the KJV reading. All of these arguments, if investigated, point to the higher accuracy of the NASB and ESV, especially with the study Bible versions, when compared the King James Version. However, these are still areas of controversy that are highly debated within the KJV-Only NIFB movement. It is my hope that Christians have a defendable, reasonable, and practical faith based on truth. In this video, I discuss the King James Only movement, focusing on how we should judge Bible translations. All Bible translations should be judged on how accurately they depict the original writings of the authors of the Bible, not on how close they resemble the King James Version. There are several good and honest modern Bible translations, such as the NASB, ESV, and NKJV, all of which are bizarre targets of KJV-Only argumentation. However, if you investigate the claims of KJV-Onlyists, they are demonstrably false and misleading. I discuss a problem with the KJV translation: the Romans 13:9 vs. Matthew 19:18 mistake where the same Greek word is translated as "murder" in one passage, and "kill" in another. With identical context, the words should be translated identically: this is a simple translation mistake; however, those fully encamped in the KJV-Only movement must perform mental gymnastics to explain how this is not a simple error.
