Aimee Cave is a current practising SENDCO in East Yorkshire with sustained experience of creating good provision in her school, including orchestrating the school becoming the first ADHD friendly school in Yorkshire. I discuss pandemic pods and how they can support you during this current Coronavirus outbreak.Pandemic pods can take a number of forms, including:Parents swapping care for each other’s children, most likely rotating the children between houses, with less of a specific focus on learning (perhaps for younger children)Hiring an online tutor to coach a group of students primarily onlineHiring a caregiver to work with the children in-person to make sure they stay on track with school-provided curriculumEither swapping care or hire a caregiver to focus on aspects of learning that aren’t traditionally covered in school (e.g. interest-led learning, explicitly anti-racist, anti-patriarchal learning, etc.)Jen Lumanlan, a previous guest from episode 68 has put together resources to help you navigate this new world of learning.
