From a coaching point of view, we talk about the role of workload ratios as well as peer decision and communication to help athletes perform optimally across the entire season. Gymnastics Strength and Conditioning: Traditional Methods Meets "New School" Science

This episode is a 2 hour long lecture I gave on pretty much all my current thoughts for the future of gymnastics strength and conditioning. I start by outlining how the values, habits, and culture that a gym has fosters motivation in young athletes. From there, we dive into all the details for strength exercises, power work, periodization, cardio, and planning throughout the year. There is a huge change coming in gymnastics for building more "new school" models that blend both traditional body weight drills and external loading in line with current research. I hope you find it helpful! We appreciate you listening!
