Names of God: Jesus - Savior

God is very specific with the names that He reveals Himself with. The name Jesus means “Savior.” Jesus came to save us from our sins. Romans 3:23 tells us that all of us have sinned, so we are all under the penalty of sin. We cannot save ourselves. We need a Savior. As our Savior, Jesus offers us 2 gifts… 1. Jesus offers redemption. God’s law demands perfection. Without salvation through our Savior, we are condemned to eternity, separated from Jesus. Since God desires a relationship with us, He sent His Son to pay the price for our sins. Jesus offers us grace and mercy through the gift of redemption. 2. Jesus offers a relationship. When you receive Jesus, the Son of God, you become an heir of God as a child of God! God wants a personal relationship with you, but only you can decide to receive Jesus as your Savior. Will you receive the gift of eternal life and a relationship with Jesus? Names of God: Immanuel – God With Us

Immanuel, meaning “God with us,” is one of God’s most significant names. Immanuel is with us in everything we do, which informs how we live and who we are. In Matthew 1:22-23, Matthew says that Jesus is the fulfillment of the promised victory from Isaiah: “So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, ‘God with us.’” Jesus put on humanity to be with us. Names of God: Jehovah Rapha – The Lord Our Healer

Psalm 103 reveals our God as Jehovah Rapha, the Lord our Healer. God promises to heal us physically eventually. But most important is when He heals us spiritually. God will one day heal our bodies, but Jesus came first to heal our hearts through salvation. Salvation comes in 3 stages: 1. Justification 2. Sanctification 3. Glorification Some of us will experience healing on earth, while others will not experience true healing until eternity. God promises to provide healing physically, relationally, emotionally, and mentally. But He may not always fulfill that promise in our timing. Names of God: Yahweh Rohi – The Lord is My Shepherd

Psalm 23, one of the most famous and well-known passages of Scripture, reveals God’s name, “Yahweh Rohi,” meaning the Lord my Shepherd. David likely wrote this psalm during personal darkness while running for his life. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want…”—Psalm 23:1 3 ways that Jesus is the Lord our Shepherd: 1. Jesus is our Peace. 2. Jesus is our Protection. 3. Jesus is our Provision. In Psalm 23, David talks about the rod and staff that comforts them. The Shepherd has both a rod and a staff to protect the sheep. The rod protects us from enemies, and the staff protects us from ourselves. Jesus is the Shepherd who came as a man to die for our sins as a sacrificial lamb. Have you placed your faith in Him to dwell in His house forever? Join Pastor Phil Hopper as he unpacks why we can confidently proclaim, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want!” Don’t forget to click the “bell” to SUBSCRIBE to get more videos like this to grow your faith! ● Connect with us on Social Media ↴ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/abundantlifels/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abundantlifels ● Connect with Pastor Phil ↴ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PhilHopperKC Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/philhopper_kc/ Web: https://livingproof.co/about-us/pasto... ● Be a part of the Great Commission: https://livingproof.co/irresistible/ More information on our sermons: https://livingproof.co/sermons/ Do you want to see your life changed by Jesus? The Names of God: Jehovah Jireh

In Genesis 22:14, we are introduced to Jehovah Jireh, meaning “God Provides.” The story is a picture of God’s provision for our salvation through Christ’s death and resurrection. When God called Abraham to sacrifice his son, Abraham fully trusted God would resurrect his son from the dead. He didn’t understand why God was testing him or how God would resurrect Isaac, but he trusted in His provision and promises. Abraham called the mountain that he climbed to sacrifice Isaac “Jehovah Jireh” because God provided a sacrificial ram to take Isaac’s place. Abraham saw the provision of the Lord on the mountain, and he wanted the mountain’s name to remind himself and others that God is our Provider. God is Jehovah Jireh because He provided a Savior. God Himself became a Man to die as our sacrificial lamb. Because of God’s provision, we get to spend eternity in heaven. Join Pastor Phil Hopper as he describes how we can rely on God to be our Provider. The Names of God: Yahweh

Yahweh is God’s first name. This name reveals His nature as a personal God who desires a personal relationship with His people. In Exodus 33, Moses wanted to experience God. He wanted to behold God’s presence and beauty so He could know Him better. God could not allow Moses to see His face, but He let His glory and presence pass by him. God wants you to know His name to encounter His glory. He is not some distant deity that we pay homage to. He is not aloof and unaware of you. He wants you to know His name and be on a first-name basis with you. Not only does God want us to know His name, He wants us to understand what He is like. He is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. Yahweh is worthy of our praise. Join Pastor Chad Glover to unpack the request, the revelation, and the response Moses experienced in Exodus 33 when he encountered Yahweh.
