Names of God: Jehovah Rapha – The Lord Our Healer

Psalm 103 reveals our God as Jehovah Rapha, the Lord our Healer. God promises to heal us physically eventually. But most important is when He heals us spiritually. God will one day heal our bodies, but Jesus came first to heal our hearts through salvation. Salvation comes in 3 stages: 1. Justification 2. Sanctification 3. Glorification Some of us will experience healing on earth, while others will not experience true healing until eternity. God promises to provide healing physically, relationally, emotionally, and mentally. But He may not always fulfill that promise in our timing. Most people focus on treating the symptoms of sin instead of treating the root cause. God forgives our sins privately when we confess them to Him, but He also heals us in community. It is time to come out of hiding so Jehovah Rapha can heal your heart. Names of God: Yahweh Rohi – The Lord is My Shepherd

Psalm 23, one of the most famous and well-known passages of Scripture, reveals God’s name, “Yahweh Rohi,” meaning the Lord my Shepherd. David likely wrote this psalm during personal darkness while running for his life. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want…”—Psalm 23:1 3 ways that Jesus is the Lord our Shepherd: 1. Jesus is our Peace. 2. Jesus is our Protection. 3. Jesus is our Provision. In Psalm 23, David talks about the rod and staff that comforts them. The Shepherd has both a rod and a staff to protect the sheep. The rod protects us from enemies, and the staff protects us from ourselves. Jesus is the Shepherd who came as a man to die for our sins as a sacrificial lamb. Have you placed your faith in Him to dwell in His house forever? Join Pastor Phil Hopper as he unpacks why we can confidently proclaim, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want!” Don’t forget to click the “bell” to SUBSCRIBE to get more videos like this to grow your faith! ● Connect with us on Social Media ↴ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/abundantlifels/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abundantlifels ● Connect with Pastor Phil ↴ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PhilHopperKC Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/philhopper_kc/ Web: https://livingproof.co/about-us/pasto... ● Be a part of the Great Commission: https://livingproof.co/irresistible/ More information on our sermons: https://livingproof.co/sermons/ Do you want to see your life changed by Jesus? The Names of God: Jehovah Jireh

In Genesis 22:14, we are introduced to Jehovah Jireh, meaning “God Provides.” The story is a picture of God’s provision for our salvation through Christ’s death and resurrection. When God called Abraham to sacrifice his son, Abraham fully trusted God would resurrect his son from the dead. He didn’t understand why God was testing him or how God would resurrect Isaac, but he trusted in His provision and promises. Abraham called the mountain that he climbed to sacrifice Isaac “Jehovah Jireh” because God provided a sacrificial ram to take Isaac’s place. Abraham saw the provision of the Lord on the mountain, and he wanted the mountain’s name to remind himself and others that God is our Provider. God is Jehovah Jireh because He provided a Savior. God Himself became a Man to die as our sacrificial lamb. Because of God’s provision, we get to spend eternity in heaven. Join Pastor Phil Hopper as he describes how we can rely on God to be our Provider. The Names of God: Yahweh

Yahweh is God’s first name. This name reveals His nature as a personal God who desires a personal relationship with His people. In Exodus 33, Moses wanted to experience God. He wanted to behold God’s presence and beauty so He could know Him better. God could not allow Moses to see His face, but He let His glory and presence pass by him. God wants you to know His name to encounter His glory. He is not some distant deity that we pay homage to. He is not aloof and unaware of you. He wants you to know His name and be on a first-name basis with you. Not only does God want us to know His name, He wants us to understand what He is like. He is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness. Yahweh is worthy of our praise. Join Pastor Chad Glover to unpack the request, the revelation, and the response Moses experienced in Exodus 33 when he encountered Yahweh. Life Change Sunday

Baptism and communion are biblical traditions through which we communicate obedience to God and proclaim how He changed our lives. We are saved by grace alone through faith alone. However, many people confuse the symbols of our salvation with the source of our salvation. But God did not send His Son to give us more religion; He came to give us redemption. Religion takes the symbols of our salvation, like baptism and communion, and makes them the source. Redemption does the opposite. Salvation is not built on what you do for yourself. It is a gift. Many people know religion but do not have a genuine relationship with God. Jesus came to redeem us from our sins and give us an example of how to live changed lives. When you are saved, God no longer sees you; He sees His Son. Baptism and communion do not save you. They are outward expressions of an inward transformation. Baptism symbolizes a burial, dying to self, sin, and past, and being resurrected to newness of life. Communion proclaims you have received the blood of the Lamb. Join us for Life Change Sunday as we celebrate baptisms and take communion to remember the new life Jesus offers us! What to Do When Life Doesn’t Go as Planned

What do you do when the worst thing you can imagine becomes your reality? What do you do when life doesn’t go as planned and takes a detour? Job’s story is a well-known story of grief, perseverance, and patience. His life was on track then disaster hit. His life went from bad to worse. But does Job’s story also give us a pattern of how to respond when life gets messy? Yes! Job did 3 things during the difficult season written about in the Bible. When examining the aspects of his story, you will know what to do when life doesn’t go as planned. WHAT JOB DID IN THE TRIALS OF LIFE 1. Job made a choice. Job fell to the ground and worshiped God. He acknowledged that the Lord gives and takes away. He praised the name of the Lord despite his circumstances. Determine the choice you will make now before the trial comes so you are prepared to persevere when life doesn’t go as planned. 2. Job wrestled with God. Often, we think we can never question God. God can handle our doubts and questions. He wants us to bring those to Him. It is healthy to wrestle with God when life doesn’t go as planned. It forces us to ask why we believe what we believe and gives us an opportunity for deeper and stronger faith. Know it is okay to bring all your doubts and questions to God. He wants to hear from you. 3. Job realized God was God, and he was not. Some things happen in life that we don’t understand. It is possible we aren’t meant to at the time. The reality is, the WHO is greater than the why. Job learned through his wrestling with God that God was bigger than all his questions and problems. Remember and reflect on God’s sovereignty and our limited abilities. Join Abundant Life’s guest speaker, Josh Turner, who speaks from the heart about his struggles when his life didn’t go as planned. Castles Part 6 – What Does the Bible Say About Discipline and Christian Parenting?

The goal of discipline in Christian parenting is to aim our children toward God so they become godly people – not just “good” people! If your aim is anything less than for your kids to be godly, you have the wrong aim. Every castle has walls and gates. Walls are for protection, and gates are for preparation. Biblical Christian parenting calls us to shape our children’s hearts into Christlikeness. How to shape a child’s heart into godly character qualities: • Teach them to submit to authority. • Teach them to obey instantly. • Teach them humility and to make others their priority. • Teach them the gospel of what Jesus did at Calvary. • Teach them to give their heart to Jesus. Join Pastor Phil as he gives biblical principles and guidelines for child discipline and Christian parenting.
